According to this morning's Birmingham Mail they have both been released by Villa (hardly a shock) and the club will do all it can to "help them with their CVs".
Never rated Ozzy to be honest, League One quality at very best. Sali had a couple of decent games (Prague away being the stand out) and will always have some sort of cult status with the fans!
-
i never understood the cult status with salifou...
he is shite... he made osbourne look like vieira in the reserves...
a shocking excuse for a football, and another shite signing that wasted wages for fuck all...
-
O'Neill can sign them when he takes over at West Ham.
-
salifou seemed to be one of MON's polishing a turd exercises. Still at least he didn't cost a forune like some of the other ones. Osbourne i have some sympathy for, but frankly he should have left 2 years ago.
-
Osbourne was top class against everton away a few years ago but sadly it was very much a one off display and he never came close to repeating it.
-
These two players have contributed nothing of significance to our club. At least they're off the wage bill.
-
They came, they saw, they did fuck all.
-
Never got the cult status with Sali, but i did love that song!
Osbourne, well i expected big things when he 1st came on the scene
Im sure these will both go somewhere decent and play 1st team
Good luck lads
-
Just think if we were paying Salifou 10K per week he has cost us 2 Million.
May as well just have set fire to the money.
Add Beye to the equation and thats 10 Million quid we've spunked for nothing
-
Salifou...good song, crap player, known as 'The Togolese Zidane' by some, but they are sadly misguided !
Was never going to be good enough.
Osbourne has had several 'off field problems', he has not the best reputation in the game, the silly boy.
He looked good early on until he got involved with all sorts of stuff, good riddance.
-
Should have gone long ago, hardly played for the reserves complete waste of space.
-
I'm amazed they were not sold last summer or the one before to be honest. Salifou would have probably played a fair few games for someone near the bottom, Osbourne was woefully out of his depth. Obviously best of luck to them both.
-
Salifou...good song, crap player
sums him up perfectly
-
I think O'neill was the only one who saw anything in either of them
-
Salifou had a few decent games and was a nice lad by all accounts. Still doesn't really make it right that we signed him and paid him for three years.
Osbourne, however, has to be one of the worst players I have ever seen play for us. Still can't believe we gave him a five year contract.
Good luck to both though. They will most likely need it. I expect I will see them up here at Kilmarnock or St Mirren or some such place.
-
Good luck lads! I'll always fondly remember....... erm...... that time when..... good luck lads!
-
My only memory of Salifou was as a late sustitute against Reading i think. A Reading player just glided past him to score. Thankfully we were 3-0 up at the time.
-
Ozzy showed some flashes 3 seasons back as a stop gap to make up our woeful squad numbers but it just never materialized for him.
The Togolese Zidane can go and play at the Togolese Real Madrid.

Osbourne's cut to camera on the big screen from a few seasons back was worth his wages alone. Comedy gold.

Salifou... known as 'The Togolese Zidane' by some
When players are given such labels (c.f. De La Cruz = the Equadoriian Beckham, according to GRaham Taylor) you just know that they're going to underwhelm you, don't you!
It's like a lead weight around the player's neck - Salifou never stood a chance and even if he was earning a couple of grand a week from Villa, that's still far too much for a no-hoping journeyman.
-
Messi - the Argentinian Salifou
-
West Ham could have a few more of MONs exs

What a total waste of money by MON especially regarding salifou!
-
Wasn't Osbourne the next Vieira at some stage. Coupled with the Togaliese Zidane they should have been some combination.....and back to reality.
-
Salifou was legendary at Sparta Prague away - he did look at world beater that day. Osbourne must have had an ASBO that prevented him leaving B6.
-
Goodnight, sweet prince.
-
Salifou was quality at Slavia Prague. Best player on the pitch by a mile. Would have liked him to have got a run out when we were down to the bones
This season.
It would kill me to find out how much in wages Osbourne has accumulated.
-
Salifou looked o.k in europe but would've been out of his depth in the prem due o the pace.
Still struggling to work out given we signed him in August 2007 on a one year deal how the hell he stayed until now!
Same with Osbourne who our former manager ridiculously awared a 4 year contract to in november 2007 when he was struggling to make the bench for prem games.
-
Goodnight, sweet prince.
*Post/Username combo of the year*! Damon Green would appreciate it greatly.
-
Thank God!
-
Good luck Big John (thanks for the memories!!!)
Good Luck NRC - you conducted yourself well under some difficult circumstances at times
Shame about Osbourne - I had high hopes for him after Goodison
-

He won me a few quid too as I had 3-1 and first goalscorer, I'll remember him for that and Prague at least.

Just seen that Stoke are looking at Can't control as they have decided against offering Carew a contract.
