Title: Three Wishes
Post by: ROBA1 on May 26, 2011, 09:05:34 PM
If the Genie was let out the bottle and granted you three wishes for Aston Villa. What would your three wishes be?

I'd like the return of Cahill, Tommy Hitz and the owners of Man City to jump ship!

You'd never see Hitz in a villa shirt if all three came true ^^

I wish we could have kicked on from May 26th 1982 and kept the team together, then I would wish for us to win the first Premier League in 1992-3 as it would have been interesting to see how manure went on after this. Finally my last wish would have been Randy Lerner became chairman a lot sooner!

For Villa Park to be a fortress, Gary Gardner to go on to be a Villa legend and world peace.

To see the Villa achieve again what they achieved 29 years ago tonight.

To see the Villa win the FA Cup

To win the FA Cup so many times that we are able to resurrect the "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" chant

First wish came true last week - we don't have to go to Small Heath next season, with a bit of luck that will be for a long, long time!

The FA Cup, the League Cup and the Champions League Cup, every year till we're bored with it.

Signing Carlo Ancelotti as manager.
Going out and signing some top class players.
Though the first two might take care of this, just to make sure my third wish is for us to win the FA Cup.

1.Back in 2006 MON would be offered the Liverpool job instead of signing for Doug  and we'd have caretaker manager until Randy took over. A manager with foreign scouts and a decent transfer record gets to spend his dosh.
2. New FIFA rule forbidding club owners from using loans to buy clubs comes in, bankrupting ManU and Liverpool.
3. New form of fuel is discovered made from mud. Overnight arab and russian oil barons see their stock reduced to pennies

Sit back and watch us win the treble.

1. Football fans at our club and all others to be treated fairly in terms of pricing.
2. Players wages and transfer fees to come down from current obscene levels.
3. A return to the days when all cup games and European games were special, and treated that way by clubs and managers.

Gareth Barry forced to retire at age 28 due to "spontaneous morbid obesity"

Gold and Sullivan to trade West ham for some magic beans down market.

Martin Laursen never retiring and playing for 20 more years at VP - Eventually his knees are worn down to mere nubs but boy can he still jump.

1. That the Trinity Road was still standing when Randy took over so he could have renovated it like the Holte Pub not demolished it.

2. To have beaten Man U to the title in 92/93.

3. That my dad and uncle live long enough to see us win the FA Cup.

1 The league to be more open and competitive every season so Villa could win stuff again.
2 All the glory-hunting top four fans to be burned alive.
3 Villa's kit to be a'la 1992-93. Blue hooped collar, blue socks and sleeves.

1. Randy Lerner to take over Villa in 1982 :)
2. Our football to be more exciting than Barcelona and more goals
3. World domination in football :)

More general football than Aston Villa

1. Something like a wage cap to be introduced to bring competition to more than the top 4 of the premier league.

2. The champions league to return to being JUST the champions and knock out format

3. Diving/Simulation and back chatting the ref to be given harsher penalty (10 mins sin bin or something), that would stop the f**kers (including ours!) CHEATING!

Looking at the answers, I actually think DeKuip and Wombat gave the best. Their general wishes to take football back from the existing money men would probably be the most effective way of giving us hope for the future.

Great question
The holte end to be returned to terracing,so the park could hold 55k plus(im guessing)

The new lionel messi to be found by the academy and be midlands born and bred

To actually believe that clubs like villa, forest, ipswich etc could be with a shot of the league each august

Wages paid to max of a Million a year (enough for anyone) and the banning of all agents.
Champions league for champions only (in fact return to all 3 old european cups).
TV officials to give real time official eradicating the natural bias to big 4 teams. Referees who continually favour big teams are struck off (including if you name rhymes with Dill Clod and Coward Plebb).

Three wishes, anything at all to do with the Villa, and you want to see Cahill and Hitz return? I think that is what they call a 'missed opportunity' isn't it?

For cup competitions too be like they were, for champions and mean alot lot more
To become a dominant force in world football being labelled "the new Barcelona"
That the league introduces rules to stop letting teams like Man City, Chelsea buy success, salaries are capped, players go to clubs for real reasons rather than money and get along with the fans better than they do

1. Randy to find the worlds largest stockpile of oil underneath his back garden

2. Messi, upon scoring his 4th goal on Saturday evening, to whip his shirt off revealing a massive tattoo of the round Villa badge on his back

3. Birmingham City to do a Swindon Town and keep dropping down the leagues.

1. In 1982 to have had a chairman who recognised the opportunity presenting itself and invest accordingly.
2. In 1992 to have had a chairman who recognised the opportunity presenting itself and invest accordingly.
3. The next time opportunity presents itself to have a chairman.....you know the rest.

We win every match we play in from now until the end of time, this eventually winning everything there is possible to win.

Tories to lose every election from now until the end of time.

I wouldn't mind having a few extra £'s in my pay packet every now and then.

1) United to have the debt called in, meaning a massive firesale of players, and losing 30points for next season, and selling the ground to City who use it as a training pitch.  Manure forced to groundshare with Stockport.  Young pulls out of his deal, severing his tie with his agent and pledges his career to Villa.
2) Villas kids step up to the plate, a top four finish in 2012 is due mainly to the likes of Bannan, Clark, Delph, Albrighton and Herd excelling.
3) Summer of 2012, players like Van Persie, Tevez, Milner, Messi, Torres, Luiz, etc all quote that they are at "crossroads" in their careers, are linked with Villa as they want to play for a successful team that have a chance of silverware.  Villa cherrypick a few top signings but stay true to their youth team that go on to take a treble of League, Carling Cup and FA cup in 2013, and through to a thrilling 4-4 semi final in the Champions league, losing only on penalties to Barcelona.  The press raves about the team from the Midlands outplaying Barca who were forced to play long ball football for most of the tie and all realise that it is just a matter of time until we retake our trophy, and place at the pinnacle of football.

If Im only allowed 2 wishes, I will let United survive

If we're talking fantastical:-
1.  Mourinho as manager.
2.  Sign Messi.
3.  Man Utd go into administration.

If we're being a bit more realistic
1.  Moyes as manager.
2.  Win FA Cup.
3.  Qualify for CL.

For the Bosman ruling to be reversed,
That the Premier League had never came to be,
To see Villa win the FA Cup.
