Personally I hope its Messi & Co. I think some people go a little overboard saying they are the greatest club side ever but they are pretty good to watch arent they ?
More importantly, all major Euro success by the `big` english clubs just further widens the financial gap between them and us.

Barca to humiliate ManU by 6-0 please
-
Do you seriously need to ask!!!??

Barca to humiliate ManU by 6-0 please
That's a bit of a slim margin isn't it!!?? You a Man Ure lover?!
-
Barca, without a shadow of a doubt. Barca are one of the teams I follow, but even I get sick of the "more than a club" bollocks that they spout, and they're by no means the fairest team on the planet, but when they're on song they are the best team to watch, and I also like the fact that it's owned by the fans.
Also, Manew are, well, Manew. Although they have fallen down the pecking order of hated clubs (thanks mainly to Chelsea), they're still by no means a club that I've any affection for.

Genuine LOL.I see two people are and haven't owned up to it
-
I've watched Barca quite a lot on TV this year. There are normally excellent and sometimes great but will have to have a really bad day to lose to Manure. If they don't press Messi and Iniesta quickly and high up the pitch they will lose heavily.
-
Nothing but total and utter humiliation for Fergie and co. please.

Seconded.

i'l be eating Paella and drinking San Miguel all day

Well a couple of people have already voted Mancs !
I am instructing my solicitors to make H & V give their IP addresses though.

I'm sure he's just forgot to add..... 'after 15 mins'.
-
I'd love to see Man U win. I always back the English Prem sides in Europe.
;)
-
Hopefully Barca, but I have a horrible feeling we'll have to endure a media wankathon over how Fergie, Giggs and co. have defied the odds and done it for every man, woman, child and dog in England who backed them all the way...
-
The only time I like seeing Man U is when one of their players is being sent off.
-
Man U
-
I want Man Utd to win. Bored of the Barca wankfest.

This is, more than any other reason, is why I would like to see Barca declare once they're 12-0 up.
-
I want Man Utd to win. Bored of the Barca wankfest.
Still enjoying the last 50 odd years of the Man Utd wankfest then I take it?
-
I want Man Utd to win. Bored of the Barca wankfest.
What about the bloody Man U wankfest? That's been every day for the past 53 years by my calculations
-
I want Man Utd to win. Bored of the Barca wankfest.
I agree. People need to remove their deeply-inserted cock from Barcelona's arse.
-
I want Barcelona to win. A Man U win just takes them even further away from us.
-

I agree. People need to remove their deeply-inserted cock from Barcelona's arse.
I find that you just don't ever get to read, see or hear anything about Manchester United these days. Sometimes I have to rely on 'supporters' who have never actually been to see them to keep me up to date with developments at the 'Theatre Of Dreams'.
-
I cannot stand arrogant Midlands Manchester United fans who think the footballing world starts and finishes with their club. The knobs that I've had the misfortune to have to mix with in work and pubs over the years tend to adopt Blues as a kind of second team and love having a pop at the Villa. A thrashing would be nice but I will settle for any kind of Barcelona victory.
-
Barcelona
Unless Villa are playing, I alway want the foreign team to beat the English team
-
If Man U were to win it wouldn't just be a wankfest it would be a wankathon Festival organised by Clive Tildesley and Sky.
Is that what some people really want?
-
A thrashing would be nice but I will settle for any kind of Barcelona victory.
How about Man Utd going one nil up and controlling the game, only to lose it to 2 stoppage time goals?
The sheer irony of it would work on just so many levels!

I can very, very easily escape ever hearing or reading about Barcelona if I want, as long as I don't tune into Sky's Spanish football coverage, which I tend not to as I'm not that interested in Spanish football.
But try being vaguely interested in English football (which I am amazingly) and avoiding talk of Manchester United.

I'd actually go around reminding them about Sheffield Wednesday in 1993.

The whole shebang is a gerrymanderd, overhyped, cash-rich, corporate bore.
How UEFA must have looked on with bitter envy at the climax at the bottom of the Premier League, something that, by their own interference and management has ensured will never happen in their sanitised and predictable competition.
Barcelona, anyway.
-
I hope its a good game for those fans who've bought tickets to go.
I feel sorry for both of them. Why should you be fleeced and have the micky taken out of you just because you follow a successful club?
Uefa, as with most things in modern football, are a joke.
-
A stoppage time winner for Barcelona would be sweet .
-
I want football to be the winner.

Good point, they have already ruined the Europa league - remember how the UEFA Cup used to be a decent thing to win and the final was one of the highlights of the season: Ipswich, Spurs v Wolves I think one year et al. The CL is fast heading the same way in terms of anything remotely approaching excitement, with only Barcelona really doing anything to maintain one's interest in the whole overhyped and poor quality charade...
-
I want football to be the winner.
Well said, on behalf of the football club, can I be the first to agree with you
-
Barça obviously. No cockfest going on here, just an appreciation of how unbelievable they are.
However, gut feeling says Mancs will win it this time, followed by a never-ending masturbation session on Sky.
-
My passionate hatred for anything connected to the red scum means that if they were playing a Gary Glitter paedo XI i would not want United to win
Thankfully i will not be watching it so i do not have to listen to Tyldsley bringing himself to orgasm every time they have the ball
Heart = Barca to give them a lesson in football
Head = Manx cnuts to win it
-
I want football to be the winner.
Well said, on behalf of the football club, can I be the first to agree with you
Perfectly happy for football to be the winner in an end to end game of free flowing attacking play that excites and inspires people the world over.
Just as long as Man Utd lose it in the end.
-
We do need to remember of course that football and music post 1990 were invented by Manchester...

Not sure Chris, Clayton Blackmore and Mal Donaghy were the stars last I heard of them and they had high hopes for Lee Martin.
-
A stoppage time winner for Barcelona would be sweet .
This reminds me of the last non Villa related injury time winner that was greeted with hysteria in my household, Iniesta’s stoppage time winner against Chelsea a few season’s back. I’d settle for that again but would prefer Barca to dish out a 6 of the best, trousers down, right royal spanking.
-
Unless Villa are playing, I alway want the foreign team to beat the English team
Same here, apart from Fulham's run last year. Bollocks to the rest of them.
I just can't decide whether i'd prefer an utter annihilation (like in the game against Madrid at Camp Nou) or a narrow win due to a dodgy referee's decision, sending Lord Taggart into blue-faced fit.
-
I hope Barca tear united to shreds.
-
i'l be eating Paella and drinking San Miguel all day
Actually, paella is from Valencia (we don't like them, oh no) and San Miguel is from Lleida (full of oiks with silly accents). Estrella Dorada is the beer you want if you're a Barça fan.
A bit pedantic I know but I can't help it. I'm like that.
-
Viva Barca !
Hate those plastic prawnmunching arrogant Manure 'fans'.
Bloke I know loves the atmosphere of a pub in Solihull because he says 'there's nothing like a live game'.
I kid ye not.
And they wonder why we all hate them. :(
-
Barca for me- 3-1 maybe but I think they will be far too good for utd.
-
Barca by an absolute, absolute, mile.
Had this conversation with two guys at work yesterday, asking me who I'd be 'supporting' on the night. Said Barca. They were staggered (one's a Man U 'fan' who could just about tell you the position Wayne Rooney plays, the other is a Newcastle fan). Couldn't understand why I didn't want the English team to win.
Told them I like to see Man U lose every game, apart from when they play Birmingham.
-
Barca are one of the teams I follow, but even I get sick of the "more than a club" bollocks that they spout
Couldn't agree more. All that stuff should have gone out the window years ago, but it's just grown and grown.
-
I don't care who wins it. I won't even watch it.
-
Would love to rub their noses in it when the mighty manure crumble
When they beat us 3-1 i was taken the mick out of by about 6 manure "fans" i went round saying that they were plastic, one told me that he wasn't because he'd been once! In my whole life i've only met one manure who i would consider to be a real fan
Try telling a United fan there a glory hunter aswell, they just can't accept it
-

The group stages have taken the glamour and excitement away from both The Champions League and The Europa League. When I was a kid I remember games like Villa-Juventus,Spurs-Barcelona,Man U-Barcelona,Man U-Juventus,Everton-Bayern and Aberdeen-Real Madrid seeming massive. And they were across the three different european competitions at various stages of the competition. How exciting would a half hearted Arsenal-Bayern in The Europa league be these days and how often have Chelsea and Man United played the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan in recent years. It's not a big deal any more.
-
I don't want any last minute winner nonsense either i'd like Barcelona to hammer them. I'm guessing though that fairly early in the game Vidic will get away with a cynical challenge on Messi and escape without a booking as that seems to be the rule with Man Utd at Wembley.
-
My rule is to always support the home team, including Rangers and Celtic in european competition. (I will cheer on Brum next year, if they lose focus on the league like this year in a cup competition, they will be playing in league 1 in 2012-13) However there is always an exception to the rule, and that happens to be United. Thrash them Pep.
-
Never support any English club in Europe , obviously apart from Villa.Would'nt have minded Fulham , or Mboro winning a few years ago, and probably Everton as well........but all the London clubs and glory hunters, not a chance.
Is Messi the best player you have ever seen? For me i think he is.
-
Barcelona. Although if Man United catch Liverpool on European Cups as well as Championships that would seriously annoy my plastic Liverpool supporting friends.
-
Is Messi the best player you have ever seen? For me i think he is.
McGrath would have had him.
-
Surrey ManUre, so I can get some action later on, missus is from Madrid and hates Barca. I am getting tired of Barca being goody-2-shoes. Messi is absolute class though, perhaps if they lose he'll be so distraught he will leave and sign for us.....
-
Barca Barca Barca.
Hopefully they'll score about 50.
-
Tough one..erm..let me think..
A cricket score would be nice.
-
Barcelona, and I hope they dish out a humiliating twatting.
-
Is Messi the best player you have ever seen? For me i think he is.
McGrath would have had him.
He's certainly something special but not unplayable. The trouble of dealing with Messi is that you would free up Iniesta, Xavi, Pepe or any of their other top class players. Barca don't have a great deal of experienced players in their squad outside of the first 11 and it seems that they won't have too many injury worries for the weekend which spells trouble for the Red Filth.
-
Hopefully Barca, but I don't trust Fergie - he'll have a cunning plan up his sleeve and go and spoil it all as usual.
-
I support Villa and Real Madrid. I want Barcelona to totally destroy Manure.
Come on Barca. :)
-
I wouldn't be too fussed if Utd won. Not in a patriotic way,but I watch the Spanish league on T.V and hate the dramatic diving, play acting and card waving that Barca seem to get away with. And i hate Alves, great player but complete wanker,he must be the Spanish league version of Ashley cole.
-
I like Barcelona so I would have to go for Barcelona I really hope they thrash ManYoo and Messi get's a hatrick.
-

Macca wouldn't have needed to. Birchy man marking Messi like he marked Mattheus at Villa Park and God would have had David Villa in his pocket. Iniesta and Xavi? Cowans and Platt!
-
Barca by the biggest margin they can manage.
-
I just have a feeling united are going to win this, hope im proved wrong!!
-
Nothing but total and utter humiliation for Fergie and co. please.
+1 Just to reinforce how poor Fergiescum's record in Europe. Greatest manager my ar*e!
The only time I cheer for Man U is when they play Rangers. Even then it doesn't feel right.
Sadly, have a feeling Hernandez will get the opening goal and Man U will stymie Barca's efforts to equalise. Hope I'm wrong as I like Barca as as a club.
-
I hope Barce thrash them. In fact thrashing is not quite as strong a word.
In reality I see Barca winning by the odd goal.
-
It would be good. We could continuuously remind them about "that night at Wembley."
Can't recall Tyldesley referring to "that night in Rotterdam" in any of his commentaries. But then we didn't beat the mighty Bayern Munich.....Oh!
-
I actually like watching ManU in Europe, I want them to win.
-
I actually like watching ManU in Europe, I want them to win.
You have crossed a line there.
Crossed a line.
-
I actually like watching ManU in Europe, I want them to win.
That's only because you're Wayne Rooney.
-
Given my geographical location there is only one possible answer... come on Barca!
Hoping Messi and Co teach them a lesson - again!
-
Barca for me every time, I can't stand them lot from newton heath
-
Man United have won so much in my football supporting life that im just immune to it now and hope they win.
-
I hope Barca smash them about 7 nil.
-
Barca all the way against Manure. I do not buy into any of the support an English club stuff. Barca have never depressed while at a Villa game, Manure have loads of times. Their fans running onto our pitch, a Manure fan trying to urinate on me while I was leaving Old Trafford (1-1 game, Mellberg header), my family that are down South all support them but never go to football, Ferguson ranting about anything he wants and usually getting away with it, injury time to suit, the list goes on...
-
Barca definitely.
-
I hope Man Utd lose in the most controversial way possible.
-
Barcelona to annihilate them, please. Especially as I'm in Manchester at the weekend. Probably won't come across too many of their fans, though.
-
man u all day!barca are cheating diving c**ts!
-
I am surrounded my Man Utd fans over here.
I really, really hope they get walloped.
-
man u all day!barca are cheating diving c**ts!
ManUre aren't?
-
Although I am not surprised with the poll result, I went for Man U
Not because I like Man U but because of what I think it may follow on to.
If they win, no matter what he says now, I just can't see Fergusun carrying on - think about it.
He wins the league, beating Liverpools record , he wins the Champions League, at Wembley , the scene of the Busby triumph, against what is considered the best footballing side in the world, and possibly ever to win the double, and also go into the elite "won it three times" club, which only has the very best - Paisley, Trapattoni, Lippi (in fact has Trappatoni ?) - anyway, only the very best.
Why on earth wouldn't he go out like that !
There is a vast vast possibility Man U won't even be the most successful club in Manchester next year, never mind the world - why would Fergusun risk going out to the site of Man City lifting the league trophy when he can go out in the blaze of glory.
And, if he does carry on - it has all the hallmarks of a boxer who always thinks he has got one last fight left.
He would be mad - thus, the reason I want them to win, as it could spell the end of Man U as we know it.
-
BARCA
ANNILIHATE
RED
CU*T
ARSEHOLES
-
I am surrounded my Man Utd fans over here.
Who the fuck isn't?
-
I would normally say Barca, but I've been so annoyed with their outrageous cheating two years running that I've developed a real dislike for them, especially Busquets, Pedro and Alves.
-
Always Claret & Blue...come on Barca
-
When it's pointed out to me that I should support the English team in Europe I ask what is English about Van Der Sar, Raphael, Fabio, Evra, Vidic, Valencia, Nani, Hernandez etc.
I want and expect Barca to win. I don't think Vidic will cope very well with Messi running at him.
-
I would normally say Barca, but I've been so annoyed with their outrageous cheating two years running that I've developed a real dislike for them, especially Busquets, Pedro and Alves.
It that worse than Manure players blatant cheating and diving for pens, Vidic having to shoot players before he is booked or a penalty awarded against him, continuous harassing of refs through verbal and sometimes physical abuse. Fergie's relentless criticising of officials, banning journos for asking reasonable questions etc etc etc
-
Yes, much worse. I've not seen man u players act as outrageously as barca did against inter last year and real this
-
Can those who vote for mu please make themslves known and form an orderley queue for the exit. There is no place for them on this forum. Not now and not ever.
-
Yes, much worse. I've not seen man u players act as outrageously as barca did against inter last year and real this
Either you don't watch Barca and english football very often or you're being intentionally provocative as your post has little basis in independent fact.
-
I was born in England,I am proud to be English,my team are an English team and Man U are English, so why do I want Barca to destroy them?
-
Because Man United are utter C***s and symbolise much of what is wrong with English football?
-
I was born in England,I am proud to be English,my team are an English team and Man U are English, so why do I want Barca to destroy them?
Find me a Manchester United supporter who could care less about England.
-
I was born in England,I am proud to be English,my team are an English team and Man U are English, so why do I want Barca to destroy them?
Does that mean you will supporting Blose in their European exploits next season?
-
Barca!!
Ive borrowed a Barca shirt to wear for the night, cue lots of abuse when i go to the pub ;D
-
Barca .... then can come up with a song with "4" in it and taunt them like they did to Liverpool with "19" ..........
-
Barca, there is no alternative.
-
As above....most of their fans I don't mind but they do have a large contingent like my boss who avoids football all season until now and then reminds of his team United.
This season he was worse than ever, he became a huge fan of rugby. Exeter Chiefs have become very popular down here, it is as if rugby has been only just been invented. Well he decided to turn his back on football for good because of the failure of England in the World Cup? Suddenly though he can't wait for Saturdays final.
-
Hope the mancs get humiliated to the point where Barca can bring on Imogen Thomas for the last 20 minutes.
-
I want it to be so much of a one sided game that purple nose admits Barca were well deserving of victory.
-
Barcelona 2 - 1 ManUre
Messi scoring the two goals in the 94th & 97th minute, both from offside position.
Being a sore loser and feeling pissed off, Fergiescum squeezed the wee Argentinian into the massive trophy and was later charged with child abuse.
There starts the decline of Reds(cum) Empire.
-
Barcelona by a cricket score would be nice.
-
would prefer Barca to dish out a 6 of the best, trousers down, right royal spanking.
Your sounding suspiciously public school to me Boris.
-
I do normally want English teams to win in Europe, with the major exceptions of Chelsea and, especially, Manyoo.
I hope they get comprehensively twatted.
-
Barcelona by a cricket score would be nice.
Not by one of Yorkshire's scores this season it won't.
-
Hope the mancs get humiliated to the point where Barca can bring on Imogen Thomas for the last 20 minutes.
Saw a picture of her in the paper today and she's majestic up front!
-
Crisp Salesman is correct imo
-
Nothing but total and utter humiliation for Fergie and co. please.
This
-
For the sake of 90 valuable minutes of life, I hope that Barca are at there very best (because they have got it to be that) and Messi is sublime, then and only then may it actually be worth looking at.
-
Barca to batter them hopefully.
-
Barca.
It would be a travesty if Man United have a better season than them.
-
Is fletcher out of the final for the 3rd time manure have played in it?
-
I actually want Man Utd to win this.
I'm not sure what's happened. In the 90's I loathed all things Manure with a passion, but whether it's because there are far more teams to hate these days since the ascent of Chelsea and Arsenal, Fergie has become less of a cock as he's gotten older, or I'm just that much more mellow now than I was back then, I somehow don't find myself wanting to kick the tele in when I see them winning game after game after game.
Besides, I'm sick to death of hearing about how bloody brilliant Barcelona are. Sky bang on about them more than Rooneeeey or Stevie Geeeeeeeee.
Plus I always root for the underdog. Man Utd the underdog? What is the world coming to?
-
I like the fact no London team has ever won the European Cup so that's another reason to want Barca to win.
See what I did there?
-
I have no idea of score or who wil win ...
but for betting interest hoping to see the following happen
Vidic get sent off. @25/1 i will be shouting foul everytouch and lol every time.
both teams to score even money.
hernandez to score at any time 100/30 bargain
over 12 corners 16/5
-
I can't have Man Ure winning, the papers would be unbearable!
-

Sky bang on about Barca being brilliant because it's true, they are. Light years ahead of Man U or anybody else. Sure, you'd get sick of it after a while but it's only for a short time as they have to concentrate on selling the bigger fish and that's the Premier league. And who's the top of that who they like to bang on about? Sky will be unbearable if Man U win the European cup, unbearable. ITV, or should I say Clive Tyldesley, will be a new word that is unbearable to the power of 10. I couldn't take that and nobody should have to. So we must hope that Man U get the stuffing that they should and hopefully Tyldesley will burst into tears live on air for the amusement of all the nation.
-
Hope the mancs get humiliated to the point where Barca can bring on Imogen Thomas for the last 20 minutes.
Wonderful, Gregory. I'm stealing that.
-
Hi Sendo, we did warn you about the triumvirate of Evil, I can forgive you wanting Manure to win even if they got some decisions at Upton Park that only Manure would get. I want Barca to rip them to shreds.

Messi to score first and Barcelona to win 3-2 would be nice as I've got odds of 105/1 on it. If I can't have that I'll settle for 6-0 Barca. Sky keep telling me it's the most eagerly anticipated final ever. I must have missed the chance to vote on that, personally I was a bit more excited about the 1982 final.
-
Common sense says Barca.................................................
Extra time and then Man Utd win.......

Going for similar, 3-1 Barca Messi to score first. Showing on 50/1 on ladbrokes.
-
It's not the Champions League Final, it's THE Final as the banner across the front of Wembley arrogantly states.
The CL has eaten the UEFA Cup and the League Cup, it's halfway through the FA Cup with the World Cup next on the menu.
I'm sure that winning or indeed competing in any other cup competition will soon be outlawed by UEFA to the end that teams will be forced to disband should they even mention the Johnstones Paint Trophy or some such trivialty.
We can then look forward to many more articles asking that tricky question "Why is Fergie so special?".
-
I would love Barcelona to totally embarass MU - don't think it'll happen, mind. Alex Ferguson is a such a horrible, arrogant, ignorant tosser that he doesn't deserve all he's achived as he's done it with such an unpleasant attitude to anyone not on his side.
Retirement/heart attack can't come quick enough...

Only hope it worth watching.....Lets hope.

Well done mate, swoop down here after we haven't seen you for ages then you go and say exactly what I was going to.
Without wanting to go into a full on debate, I'm bored of Barcelona, I'm bored of their style of football, I'm bored of everyone telling me that's how football should be played, I'm bored of their ridiculous cheating when things aren't going exactly their way, I'm bored of them getting big, big decisions constantly in their favour and I hope they get smashed.

I would rather them get the "big decisions going thier way" than MU....
-
I don't mind Man Utd, they are always the safeguard for me in ensuring the Cockney's don't win the thing. I don't care who wins tonight, as long as it's a good game.
-
2 seats have become available in the prawn cocktail section with both Blatter and Hammam announcing their non attendance. Any takers?
-
I'm bored of them getting big, big decisions constantly in their favour and I hope they get smashed.
Has everybody suddenly got a dose of Ferguson's myopic amnesia where Man Ure are concerned?
-
I can not imagine why any football fan in this Country other than actual Manure supporters would support them in this game when the opposition is the wonderful artisans from Barca with their enchanting claret and blue strip.
-

So there.

More like a Spanish Palace to me.
-
3-1 Barca Messi to score first. Showing on 50/1 on ladbrokes.
>:( Grrr I've put £10 on 3-1 Barca/Messi 1st scorer at Corals this morning and got 45/1. I will be fuming if it happens and I only get £460 back now.

If you replaced Barcelona with Man Utd it would make more sense to me. The difference is Barcelona are fantastic to watch, Man United have Michael Carrick. Like all the right thinking people on here I hope they get well and truly destroyed.
-
I've gone for Barcelona to win 2-1 with Xavi first goal at 100/1.
-
skysportsnews are doing my nut in...
i dont care if they are about to board a fucking coach, report on some proper sports stories cockheads...
they have fast turned into the television version of the sun...
switched over to come dine with me... and i fucking hate that program...

They are a TV version of the Sun, a promotional wing for Sky Sports and treated as such by everybody else and why they are not allowed the rights to World Cup highlights.
The "getting on the coach" bit is looked back on with fondness when linked with the FA Cup Final and rightly so, when it's done with UEFA's design it looses all the charm and gains such a grubby, staged sort of hue.
I hate Manchester United and all their soulless, giddy, doe eyed worshippers from everywhere but Manchester, the Bobby Charlton bullshit, special club clap trap and hypocrisy of breathtaking magnitude.
But I hate UEFA more for taking away the unpredictable and endlessly entertaining aspect of the competition that gave is our proudest day.
-
Just remembered there were a couple of groups of Barcelona fans in the Shakespeare last night. I managed to resist the temptation to wish them good luck in Basil Fawlty to Manuel style.
-
¡Visca Barça!
Can't be doing with these red w*****s.
-
Sure I just saw Jimmy Rimmer behind Mark Hughes on TV.
-
Sure I just saw Jimmy Rimmer behind Mark Hughes on TV.
Possible. He did get a winner's medal with them for being on the bench in 1968.
-
I'd never resent people like Rimmer being at games like this, the same goes for McGrath, their history doesn't start and finish with us.
Although I would point out that he was on the pitch in '82 (albeit for a short time) when he won a medal.
So that makes us better than Man Utd.
-
Come on Barcelona!!
I so want to hear Clive Tyldsley crying as Messi tears his beloved mglory hunters apart.
We should have run a sweepstake on how many times the cnut managed to get the words "that night in Barcelona" into his commentary.
-
Come on Barca!

Sir Graham is on Five Live and sounds like he has a stinking cold, get well soon my friend.
Strangely, Schteve McLaren is on there and is talking an awful lot of sense. I'd better pour myself another drink.
-
When we think that Villa are under performing, if you look at the word under performance then Barcelona epitomises it
I just saw that advert which said "won it three times, we want 4" - I thought "they must have won it more than that
But they haven't = and two of those were 2006 and 2009 - so , up to 2005, they had won the Euro cup as much as us, and less than Notts Forest.
Unbelievable really when you think about it
-
Mascherano at centre half worries me.
-
Credit to Fergie, they are dictating the speed of the game, playing far faster than they normally do, not allowing Barca to settle.
-
That Messi is fuckin racked off, he couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Get him off!
-
Come on Villa!
-
Man Utd have started the game well, then again so did J.F.K's day in Dallas.
-
Get in.
-
Golooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
PEDRO!!
-
Gooooooooooooal. How much are Barcelona making man utd their bitch for the last 15 mins or so?
-
******
-
Bollocks
-
Bollocks. The bitch bites back!
-
Missed first ten mins, turned on, watched barcelona keep the ball for ten minutes and score.
Now off to do something else, safe in the knowledge united have been found out.
-
Ah shit
-
Offside or offside?
-
jammy gits
-

Although I wouldn't be surprised if the glory hunters won tonight, how big is the gulf between the two sides?
-
Ferguson just told Rooney that Wolves are losing against Blackburn
-
Ferguson just told Rooney that Wolves are losing against Blackburn
I'm pretty sure I saw him mouthing the words Ashley Young.
-
I couldn't stop laughing when the whiskey faced old fucker came storming through the advertising hoarding to complain about something or other.
-
cracking game of footie
How may times have you seen the ref blow up t45 mins dead on recently - not one stoppage
great game, great tempo, great skill by Barca, great heart from Man U
Winner - who knows
-
In fairness to Manure, they started ok for the first 5 minutes. Since then Barcelona have been in total control.
If not for a bit of luck and some desperate last ditch defending the game would be over by now.
Nice equaliser by Shreck though.
-
Ferguson just told Rooney that Wolves are losing against Blackburn
I'm pretty sure I saw him mouthing the words Ashley Young.
Reports here mention a gaggle of grannies.
-
And he looks increasingly like one of the Drunken Bakers out of Viz.
-
Come on you Spurs!
What.
-
Is that the Man Utd Surrey branch invading the pitch?
-
Giggs was offside though.
-
Right, come on Barca.
-
I can just imagine Nicky Shorey watching this game and thinking: `that's where I belong'
-
Go on Leo
-
MMEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIII
-
Goooooooooooooooooooooal.
I have to say, that at times it's breath taking watching how Barcelona play.
-
Van Der Sar went down slower than one of Rooney's grannies.
-
How many fouls by Valencia before he's booked?
-
I see Barca picking them at will now.
-
Van Der Sar's positioning for both goals has been suspect.
-
How many fouls by Valencia before he's booked?
another one and again no booking
-
How many fouls by Valencia before he's booked?
And Alves get one for his first foul.
-
Van Der Sar's positioning for both goals has been suspect.
Good
-
Manure's midfield has been universally shit. Could see why they could be after Ash
-
I am sure Fergie chews gum faster than Giggs can run
-
Barca are making them look very ordinary
-
Come on Villa!
-
Get in, what a goal.
-
Villaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
-
Villa!!!!!!!
-
Goooooooooooooooooal. Amazing stuff at times. Utd are lucky it's not already 6 or 7.
-
Weep and cry you manure shits
-
Anilihation
-
2 more would be nice
-
20 minutes to get a few more. Come on Villa!
-
Had a lazy tenner on Barcelona by two or more.
I've also got a few quid on the 4-1 (and 4-2) so hurry up Barca and put the Mancs out of their misery.
-
This is glorious.
Hopefully Manure go all out for the win and Barcelona can take advantage. 5-1 please.
-
manure looked fooking awful and Im loving it ....
-
They are not giving them the ball ... It's so unfair
-
It's wonderfull to watch but sometimes I get the feeling that I'd like to be Shaun Teale and launch one of the fancy fuckers into the stingers.
Not tonight though, of course.
-
Wahey, Scholes is on. That'd have made a difference 5 years ago.
-
Scholes.
Bad tackle.
Lucky to stay on.
-
Barca play like they're having a kick about in the park. It's almost as if they're not trying, they make it look so easy.
-
That should be Valencia off.
-
Valencia booked at last after 12 fouls
-
Easy, easy, easy
-
Come on Villa, just one more!
-
I'm in shock - I've not heard a mention of THAT night in Barcelona yet.
-
Great end for for Puyol coming on now
-
Are there any Man Utd fans there? Haven't heard them this half.
-
I'm in shock - I've not heard a mention of THAT night in Barcelona yet.
Hahaha thankfully we are not listening to that prick tyldesley
-
Villa wins Champions League
-
Well, that was nice.
-
All over.
That Barcelona side are a bit alright!
-
Men against boys.
-
Men against boys.
Aye, Man Utd were beaten like a ginger step child.
-
-
So will Fergie moan about the amount of matches they played again?
Similar to AC Milan in recent years they have too many old men on the pitch against a side that makes you run around. What was the 38 yo Scholes and Giggs going to do against Messi and Iniesta? Van Der Saar did a Brad and was so slow for the 2nd goal. Park can run and run but what else did he do?
-
So Ash, do you still want to join that bunch of losers ?
-
What a team, simply brilliant
-
So Ash, do you still want to join that bunch of losers ?
He will replace Giggs as he can't get around without a zimmer frame. I reckon he must have got the blue pills out for Imogen.
-
Stats humiliate manure. What a fantastic team Barca are.
-
Bloody hell! There's not need for that!
-
Well thank fuck for that. Work wont be so unbearable Monday morning.
-
TBH you can only beat Barca with luck. Even when they were beaten this season they had lots of chances or played a weakened side.
I'm just glad we don't have to ever play them in competition football.
-
Oh what a joy to see the Gloryhunters totally outplayed and humiliated .Pity Barcelona settled for just the 3.
-
Messi = the new Barry Bannan.
-
Alan Smith.. fook off .. just heard him say its really hard listening to those man utd players when they have ben easily beat by Barcalona ... who gives a flying fook about those tossers...
-
You can't help but think of Sir Dennis going up and picking up old big ears 29 years ago can you!
-
Nice touch of them to get Abidal to lift the trophy.
-
Nice touch of them to get Abidal to lift the trophy.
Word for word what I was about to type Baz
-
Nice touch of them to get Abidal to lift the trophy.
Absolutely, I thought Puyol would have done it but it shows the team spirit they have, they must have had a spa weekend too!
-
Seeing Abidal with that cup ... I can just picture Dennis... YES YES
-
Oh what a joy to see the Gloryhunters totally outplayed and humiliated .Pity Barcelona settled for just the 3.
That attempted lob-volley by Iniesta would have made a hell of a fourth goal
-
classy in every way
-
Well, I enjoyed that.
-
a wonderful satisfying joyful night.
-
a wonderful satisfying joyful night.
here here
-
As a comfortable straight man id happilly say Messi would get it!
-
Phil McNulty from BBC saying that Berbatov left the stadium before kick off when found out he wasn't in the squad.
-
Beautiful :) I hope GH's is building a plan to make us play like Barcelona. So if 4 years time the media will be crying about Villa V Barcelona final.
-
Magners League Final...Munster win...sweet.
Champions League Final...Barcelona win...sweet
And now for the big one......the one all of Europe is waiting for....
....best of luck to Cork tomorrow in the hurling.
How many days till the premier league starts again ?...I'm still struggling to find something ( worthwhile ) to focus my weekend on.
-
And what a marvellous anthem,they have !
-
I wonder why Giggs bothered with a super injunction when all he needed was the Barcelona defence to make him anonymous.
-
Tremendous - all round. The result, performance and the way they easily made united look bog average,
-
-
Excellent, shame there didn't appear to be any United fans there to witness it judging by the total lack of noise they made
-
Great anthem - with English subtitles:
-
They're the best by such a long way there's no point in arguing otherwise. After a bitter, testing and staining semi-final they've come out the other side to do that. Well fair enough.
-
Beautiful :) I hope GH's is building a plan to make us play like Barcelona. So if 4 years time the media will be crying about Villa V Barcelona final.
Unless this plan involves a major breakthrough in cloning, I very much doubt it.
-
But we got to build a team round The Scottish Xavi.
-
How tetchy was Taggart then? "That's all i'm saying, RIGHT!"
-
Graham Norton , Michael Barrymore and Dale Winter have all jumped into a taxi to wembley after they heard 11 men getting a good arseholing down there...
-
Not sure how anybody can be bored by Barcelona. Loved seeing Man Utd being totally outclassed.
-
wonderful stuff. most one-sided contest since bruno met tyson. Lovely post match interview where at one point it looked like ferguson would ask for his ball back live on telly. In a word - humiliation.
-
Not sure how anybody can be bored by Barcelona. Loved seeing Man Utd being totally outclassed.
The only time I get frustrated is you know they could get more goals at any time and they seem to just play it around without bothering with playing the killer ball when it is on sometimes.
-
I see that, that night in Barcelona and that might in Istanbul, were shoehorned into one sentence with ten minutes to go. Tit.
-

Yup, you could see the Barca players were thinking about their holidays with 20 minutes to go. In fact, all second half they looked like they were playing in a pre-season friendly. A cricket score would have been nice.
-
I see that, that night in Barcelona and that might in Istanbul, were shoehorned into one sentence with ten minutes to go. Tit.
I had Sky on for that exact reason.
Even if I hadn't had a subscription, I'd have considered installing it just as a one off. Cheaper than another foot through the TV when cushion face Tyldesley starts up with that shite again.
-
I'll always remember That Magnificent Night In London.
-
Even ignoring the shit he comes out with he has an impressively irritating voice and dire enunciation especially of foreign names.
-
Kevin - Just put on radio and turn off TV sound and watch football. Assuming there is live coverage on radio. (Don't use it)

Same here, one of the few reasons to keep it for this. Although I wouldn't have installed it but used the mute button instead if I didn't have it. But I do wish Sky had put one of the guys from the La Liga to give some slight balance in the studio. Just glad Souness filled that role and put Redknapp in his place when the latter was arguing Messi isn't as good as Maradonna because he did nothing in the world cup. He hit the woodwork almost as many times as the Villa have this season during that tournament you tight trousered twat. What did the fucking Shrek alike do apart from take the piss out of people spending 3 months pay to follow their country live in SA.
-
Listening to the post match phone in now. I think the callers need to come out with a few new cliches. It's not rocket science.
-
ITV pissed me off with their "destiny for Sir Alex" comments before the match. This was how it was always going to be:
Magicians against roadies
Thoroughbreds against plods
Scalpels against spoons
Surgeons against butchers
Watchmakers against metal bashers
Virtuosos against amateurs
-
ITV mentioned the fairytale ending for Edwin Van Der Sar, but it was a Fairytale ending for Eric Abidal.
Barcelona are just awesome, their only problem is that they do at times do an Arsenal, which was exemplifed beautifully when they lost at Arsenal when they should have been out of sight.
Great team, great manager, great football.
-
Debate: are Barcelona the best team of all time?
-
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game so much.
I loved watching the Ajax and Dutch sides of the early 70s, and Brazil 82, but this Barca team is the nearest thing I think I've ever seen to football perfection.
As a 9 year old it was watching the ManU-Benfica final on TV in 68 that really fired my interest in football (although I'd been down the Villa a few times before then). I hope watching Barca tonight has the same effect on the young kids watching.
I hope it inspires them to get a ball and get outside in the fresh air and be Messi, Xavi, Iniesta or Villa.
I wish I was 9 again. Where's my boots?
-
Debate: are Barcelona the best team of all time?
Certainly the best team I've seen play regularly.
-

I'm too young to remember the Ajax teams, I do remember Brazil '82 and remember being awestruck at how brilliant they were, and then they bloody well lost!
-
Brazil '82

Debate: are Barcelona the best team of all time?
I wasn't around in the 70's, so missed the Brazil and Holland teams of that era.
AC Milan of the late 80's/ early 90's with the Dutch trio were pretty special. But pragmatic too. And would just as happily grind out results as they would wipe the floor with the opposition.
I don't think I've seen any other sides hit the heights this Barcelona have -constantly beating other good teams by big margins though.
-
Best team at keeping possession, pass and move, one touch football, creating space I have ever seen by a mile. Just awesome...total football and they work so hard for each other.
-
Best team at keeping possession, pass and move, one touch football, creating space I have ever seen by a mile. Just awesome...total football and they work so hard for each other.
I think that is the key. Everyone in the team will battle to get the ball back if lost. If they didn't they would just be another Arsenal instead with being good with the ball but lightweight without.
-
They are light-years away from Arsenal. Comparing the two is like comparing Leonardo with Neanderthal cave paintings.
-
I'm only 25, so can't comment on Some of the great Brazil teams, or the Ajax of the 70s etc etc.
But I refuse to believe a team has ever been better than this Barcelona one.
-
Debate: are Barcelona the best team of all time?
I would say they are contenders for best club side.
But for me nobody touches the 1970 Brazil team.
-

It could have been worse, it could have been Motters.
-
Barca were fantastic, got what they deserved (and it should really be three in a row for them). I really hope Guardiola sticks around and they keep this bunch of players together as it's a privilege to watch them.
Anyway, I thought Man United did what they want?
Not when you're up again a decent team you don't, you utter c***s.

Love it haha

I didn't watch it. I don't have sky and I knew itv would render it unwatchable
-
ITV interviewed a bloke before the game and asked him what he thought the outcome would be...
"3-1 mate" (incredibly in a Manc accent)
"Are you not worried about the threat Barcelona will bring?"
"No - we're Man Utd mate".
He got the score correct I suppose.... ;D
-
Barcelona were awesome, man u were 2nd best throughout. Glad united were beaten
-
They are light-years away from Arsenal. Comparing the two is like comparing Leonardo with Neanderthal cave paintings.
The cave paintings are incredible based on what was available at the time ..a better comparison would be Leonardo with Rolf Harris ...hmmm I see we are back to the neanderthals again!
-
It really was satisfying to see the Mancs played off the park.
Barca made them look so ordinary it was unreal.
I don't suppose there is a Manc fan in the world who appreciates just how good Barca are, no doubt the bastards just think they were unlucky.
-
Im so enjoying winding up all my man u mates on facebook they dont seem to appreciate my you tube link of Barcelona by Freddie and Montserrat at all!
-
The was this difference in mindset as much as anything. United, until they ran out of puff, did press the ball hard and fast, but this million miles-an-hour attitude pervaded their whole game - even when they won the ball, they'd be too quick to get it forward to isolated strikers, would lose the ball to Barca and be back to square one. Barca press with as much if not more speed and fury than United (almost, in fact, than any other team ever), but as soon as they get the ball they become zen again, and attack with patience.
-
Everyone likes to see the school bully get a bloody nose,

Spot on. What makes this side so good is that they never have someone run off on his own and get caught without a pass on or with a shooting chance. United were running up blind alleys all night and just being crowded out.
I like the simple comparison of Villa to Shrek as well, Villa placed a side footer into the top corner with ease, a few minutes later shrek tried and put it well over the bar. That difference in technique will always be the downfall of english sides/players whilst we insist on pace and power being more important than technique and skill.
-
Probably been said before but I thought utd were supposed to be thẹ home team. Could have fooled me! Were there any utd fans there? All I heard was thẹ barca fans. On talk sport in thẹ morning, they did a report from thẹ theatre of dreams. They were taking 50, yes that's right 50 coaches from utd. Brilliant support! Not!

I don't suppose there is a Manc fan in the world who appreciates just how good Barca are, no doubt the bastards just think they were unlucky.
To be fair any united fan I've spoken to has put their hands up and admitted that they were easily second best. Obviously it's not that hard when you're so clearly outplayed, but you'd never put it past the bastards I suppose.

Had a tenner on the correct score, that paid out handsomely. And yes, they are the best team ever with the best midfield ever with the best player ever.
-
Going forwards they're beyond question the best in the world. Their full backs are top draw, but I think the goal-keeper and centre halves are not up with the McGraths of this world. That said, nobody ever gets the ball to put them under pressure. Their movement is like water.

Barca could have had five or six, but Van der Saar wants shooting for two of the goals.

Disagree about VDS im afraid.......1st goal was Evra's fault you look @ replay he left the whole left side uncovered, 2nd goal was a great strike, no backlift, Vidic blocked his view also they hit both the 1st/2nd goals very early and the 3rd was unstoppable

I didn't watch it. I don't have sky and I knew itv would render it unwatchable
Seriously? It certainly wasn't unwatchable.

I cancelled my Sky Sports sub a couple of weeks ago and so I had to bite the bullet and watch the ITV coverage.
Was not as bad as I feared, but I had to laugh at the chap (Gabriel?) who interviewed Vidic after the game.
Bear in mind that Vidic's command of English is somewhat tenuous:
" So sah ih' ohl ' ah"
"What did you say?"
Translation: "So, sum it all up", but with no trace of a trailing consonant to give the confounded Serb the slightest chance of working out what the fuck he was being asked.
I suppose he could argue in mitigation that he had just interviewed Rio.

Agree.
First goal was at his near post and he dived the wrong way...
Second goal was straight down the middle of his goal - his positioning was poor (he was too far over to the right of his goal)
-
Good game. The United we all know and hate really didn't turn up last
night. A very below par team effort on all levels which made it easy for Barcelona. The United fans were a disgrace as was ITV's over the top Barca wankfest.

A new "19 times" banner will be unvieled at Old Trafford this week...to represent how many times they touched the ball Saturday night.

Couldn't disagree more. Van der Saar plants his feet for the first. Messi's goal should have gone straight down his throat. Nothing he could do about Villa's goal.
The Defending, bar Vidic (world class centre half) wasn't up to much either.
