One of those nights that made you feel proud to be a Villa fan even though we lost the game. Feared a real drubbing at half-time, particularly when Draper was sent off but we did ourselves justice. Yorke's finishing was a real masterclass and Sasa Curcic was in his early days at the club showing the promise he never really fulfilled.

As I recall wasn't that the day after Matthew Harding died in a helicopter crash? I'll never foget a Villa fan in the pub I was watching it in making loads of rreally crass jokes about it.
Who scores a hatrick and ends up losing?

We deserved at least a draw but newcastle back then would attack a lot better than defending, great game for us and Yorkie!

That night sticks in my mind because my mate arrived to watch it with me and brought with him a small bag of what he described as 'Special' wacky baccy. Not being one to shirk a challenge I duly partook. It certainly was 'Special' because after about 20 mins I lost control of my limbs and all touch with reality. I wept like a baby when Yorke got his 3rd. I was up til the early hours listening to Dark side of the Moon

Yorke's disallowed goal still hurts.

4:35 - how small does Alan Wright look in that corner and Sasa Curcic showing what he could've been capable of.
