Arsenal A LOT Aston Villa NIL
-
3-2 to us. I've got a funny feeling we'll win this.
-
Arsenal A LOT Aston Villa NIL
Oi! You're supposed to be the ludicrously optimistic one.
I suppose I'll have to go with the ridiculous guess.
Arsenal 0 Villa 2.
-
ars 3-1 villa. with the best will in the world i just cant see it, bentman. although i do fancy the bentman to score....
-
The bastards have finally ground me down, especially with McLacklustre overseeing things. I don't think we've had a 2-0 win all season (I think I've predicted that result once or twice) so I hope they prove me wrong.
-
4 or 5
-
Difficult to see beyond us getting a drubbing.
our wanky panky defence will surely fail us again, clueless McAllister in charge.
5-1 to Arsenal.
-
Shades of O'Dreary 2006? We were awful that day.
Is this a Sky Ford Super Sunday production?
-
For some reason, it is on telly yes. God knows why they picked us ahead of Wigan v West Ham at the same time.
-
Shades of O'Dreary 2006? We were awful that day.
Is this a Sky Ford Super Sunday production?
That debacle spawned olearyout.com
-
I cant see anything but a drubbing either, our lot were half way to boarding the plane last week so they should be well and truly on the beach by now, a 5-1 defeat to almost round of a complete fuck of a seadpn, bent with our goal.
-
Arsenal 4-0 VILLA. Going to be a long afternoon!
-
Them 4 or 5 - Us 0 shots
Just give them the points now.
-
Whatever the result, unfortunately we'll be worse than woeful to watch and drum up about half a chance. 3-0 stroll in the park for Arse.
-
We'll win this. Nobody going is going to be arsed about the result, we'll more concerned with the jollies of the trip and we'll end up doing them.
-
When was the last time we went a whole season without keeping a clean sheet away from home? Any Statos know?
If we keep a clean sheet sunday i will streak across the pitch.
-
Oh cricky I really am very worried about this one. With G'Mac in charge I just do not have any confidence. Its sad but if we only lose by the odd goal I will be relieved. That said Arse have their own issues so a season saving 1-1.
-
Have we really not kept a single clean sheet away from home all season? Fuck me that's awful.
-
Arsenal 3 Villa 0
-
3-0 if we are lucky, could be more
Not looking forward to Sky drooling over an Arsenal return to form...
-
Why don't they ever play like they did against Stoke when they play us? You just know they'll turn into Barcelona on Sunday. Problem is now they need to win to keep 3rd spot.
Having said that, some of their players looked totally uninterested on Sunday so I'll go 1-1 to us!
-
One thing I don't want to see is another "old freinds" re-union for that "Symbol of a Shit Season", Pires.
Give him the afternoon off. No, in fact, fuck him off altogether and try to forget that he was ever with us.
-
Arsenal 1-2 Villa
Wright Whittingam, Townsend
Only joking. Can see us getting beat by two clear goals.
-
An absolute mauling, a la Liverpool away last season. 4 or 5 nil.
-
4 - 0 Arsenal.
If they'd have still been in with a shout of the league, they might have got nervous and only won 3 - 0.
-
Uh-oh spaghettios
-
Think I might watch the cricket instead.
-
This game will be 1-0 with an own goal but I can't tell you which side
-
This is one of the worst villa sides in history, and arsenal are also struggling.
My heart says 1 1 draw my head 3 0 ars
-
Arsenal have annoyed me this season. They have bottled it as usual when it comes to the crunch... Losing THAT cup final was unforgiveable! They have dropped silly points against teams around us too!
Saying that, they could still finish second. I doubt our team will relax (now seemingly safe) and play calm, attractive football. More likely they will relax in the same manner of recent games and not put much effort in!
Our record at the Emirates in the league must be one of the best though but I think this will be a predictable 2 or 3 goal defeat.
-
Arsenal will win, Wenger will fire them up after their loss at Stoke. What a shit season.
-
I think 3-0 to Arsenal i hope i'm wrong but can't see it.
-
the pressure is off for Arsenal as they've blown yet another season. 3-1 to them.
-
I think we will have our claret and blue arses handed to us !
3 nil at half time and when the fourth goes in we will be on our way to the pub.

Can only see an Arsenal win here they need to secure third so they can avoid the qualifying rounds in the CL.Praying it will be a small margin a 1-0 or 2-1.Suspect it might be about 4-0 though.
-
I actually fancy a point here.
The smart money would say we'll get bullyrammed but I have a feeling for 2-2 in a strangely open and entertaining match.
-
We will not win again this season. Would have been a more bold prediction day after West Ham but we couldn't have foreseen the events that have led to GMac's reign of ineptitude
-
I really think we will get a pasting.
Our lot really can't be bothered t play for the caretaker manager. We have been unable to raise our game against the likes of Wigan, Stoke etc.
There is no chance of doing it at the Emirates when its Arse's last home game of the season and they will want to sign off in style.
Arse 5 - Villa 0
-
4-1 to the Arse.
Can't see Dunne and Collins being remotely mobile enough ( particularly the former) against them.
We showed against Wigan how poor we are, it isn't going to change til next season.
-
cant see anything other than a battering, with mcallister walking up and down the sideline looking totally bemused and out of his depth...
-
I might be wrong but cant Arsenal be caught for third?? If so, they're still ging to need points to guarantee finishing third.
Was hoping this was going to be a nothing to play for game (for both teams) that way we'd get off lightly!!!!!!
-
I've had a feeling for a while we'll pinch a point from this game. I have no logical reason to think this, and am most likely wrong, but I'm gonna go for a 1-1.
-
With certain players putting themselves in the shop window, I feel they might up their performance for this one. Could see us getting something out of the game.....hope the our supporters have a good day.
-
I'm looking forward to sky trying to advertise this as being an important game. I wonder if they'll mention the words 'Aston Villa' at all when they try to do it. Anyway, we'll lose. 7-1.
-
Hate to say it but 42 pts is the end of the worst season for years. Arsenal 3 Villa 0 ......
-
3-1 loss. Hard to be optimistic after the last few games and general crappiness.
On the plus side, it's another game closer to the end of this season.
-
If we score first and show some balls we could win this. We have seen precious little all season mind so I predict a good hiding. They will knock in 4 or 5 and we will get one of our own somewhere along the line.
-
I've never wanted us to lose a game, but if it was to guarantee changes... um... no, I still can't do it.
-
Arsenal are lucky this week, as they're playing the only team in the league more spineless than themselves. A heavy loss.
-
I'm really looking forward to it strangely but thats more to do with the prospect of a day out with friends, getting roaringly drunk and having a sing song and finding some decent boozers. The fact we'll lose by 4 clear goals will be irrelevant on a big day out down in Londinium. Bring it on......
-
Arsenal will want some revenge from being beaten by Stoke, so a tonking is in store... 4-1!
-
An absolute mauling, a la Liverpool away last season. 4 or 5 nil.
Eh? We won 3-1. Seems like a long time ago now.
-
Just keep the goal difference down, boys. Or pray that Wigan & Blackpool fail to win.
-
1-1 with 5 minutes to go.
Can Villa hold out for the point? Depends on how big the kitchen sink is that Arsenal throw.
-
Forget our result. Come on Fulham ...........
-
Forget our result. Come on Fulham ...........
oh yes....aj hat trick at sty would be a beautiful thing
-
6 or 7-0 to them. Can see us surpassing the shit performance at Newcastle in our 1st away game. Absolutely no chance of anything other than a thrashing, how very sad. :(
-
Perversely I think we'll play well and get a point.
We still can't defend, but neither can Arsenal. 2-2 with Downing and Bent scoring fro us.
-
A sound thrashing, with Arsenal tippy-tapping their way round the chuckle brothers all afternoon. 5-1 to them, including 2 penalties
-
I can't see anything other than a 2 or 3 nil defeat. However I could handle that if we don't play anyone that doesn't want to be here next year or who we don't want here.
Actually do we have enough players?
-
ass 1 Villa 2
-
Arsenal are lucky this week, as they're playing the only team in the league more spineless than themselves. A heavy loss.
Sums it up. 3-0 to them.
-
If we are on song and put in a really positive performance, go there and believe in ourselves and they have a slightly off day...
5-0 to them
-
Travelling down to Arsenal from Reading on Sunday. Where do the Villa fans congregate before the match?
-
Really feel we are in for a good hiding on sunday afternoon, have a awful feeling our goal difference could look a lot worse come sunday evening 4 1 to the arse.
-
Watching Paint Dry 6 - 1 Watch Arse Tearing Us Apart
-
I think we will win.
I've seen enough shitty defeats this season during the reality of 90 minutes that I dont want to add to them on forecast threads.
2-0 to Villa.
-
Arsenal 0-0 Villa.
Clean sheet away from home.
:)
-
I think we can snatch a lucky draw!
-
4-1 defeat.
I really don't care tbh.
-
I am going with us losing this 3-0, and that we will roll over and not fight that hard
-
As ever i think we will win. 2-1 Villa. Bent and Nasri in the first half and a last minute winner from Albrighton.
-
4-1 defeat.
I really don't care tbh.
I feel exactly the same.
Terrible really.
-
Diaby and Rosicky out for them.Fabregas and Nasri major doubts
We'll still lose regardless
-
As ever i think we will win. 2-1 Villa. Bent and Nasri in the first half and a last minute winner from Albrighton.
Nasri is out injured according to the BBC Football site. Fabregas is doubtful with a hamstring. I think we might just snatch a draw - I know our defence is poor but theirs isn't that great. 1-1.
-
Forget our result. Come on Fulham ...........
oh yes....aj hat trick at sty would be a beautiful thing
If that happened especially with them not having Agent Ridgewell and Gardner. They would be serious contenders for the drop. Wippppeeeee .........
-
An absolute tonking on the menu sunday .....6-0!!
On the plus side...I'll be there dressed as Bob the Builder.
-
At least 3-0 to the Arse.
But as the seats at the Emirates are far closer to the pitch than mine in the Upper Holte its the perfect, and hopefully last, chance to give those twats who have been such a spineless, inept bunch of tnucs a piece of my mind.
The season can't end quick enough. Roll on next season, new management (Steve McClaren is the whisper I have heard), a massive clear out of all the crap and new players who look like they give a toss.
-
An absolute tonking on the menu sunday .....6-0!!

Well build us a new defence then.
-
The referee for the game is Michael Oliver (Northumberland)
He has overseen 2 games of ours this season - both away, both poor defeats (at Blackburn and Man City for those who are interested)
His only Arsenal game saw them defeated at home by West Brom.
The assistants will be Bob Pollock (yellow flag) and Ron Ganfield (chequered). Andy D'Urso is 4th official.
-
Given how low on confidence we are, can see us getting thrashed 3-0. If we were playing a demoralised Arsenal team last season you'd have fancied us to win.
-
think we will have our claret and blue arses handed to us !
3 nil at half time and when the fourth goes in we will be on our way to the pub.

Can he fix it?
-
I'll be incredibly surprised if we get anything other than a tonking in this one. 4-1 to them.
Roll on the end of the season.
-
I think we'll get a win here but we'll all be really twitchy when it should be in the bag...
3 up on the hour, holding on for 3-2 at the end.
-
Can't see anything other than a heavy defeat 4 or 5 nil. God knows why they picked this match to be on TV I don't know if I can even be bothered watching it.
-
I just hope it is not another 7 goal drubbing like chelsea last year.
-
2-0 to them at half-time. 4-0 full time.
-
1-1 draw. Not playing in front of a villa crowd there will be a little less pressure on them. Season over then and maybe they can play the Liverpool game a little more relaxed and get something out of that game too
-
I don't think they've lost at home in about 13 games. But they've drawn a lot recently. It could just about be a draw, but the odds are on a 2 or 3 goal defeat.
-
4-1 to Arsenal.
-
Having spent the morning watching villa videos on you tube I feel a bit more optimisitc! With my claret and blue shades on, I'm now going 1-1! Bent for us!
-
If those tesco bags can get a result against them , so can we..... yes Im still pissed from last night..
-
Pasted !!
5-1 loss (which is better than I think it will be against Liverpool !!!)
-
We find ourselves wanting West Ham to get something at Wigan. Thanks, GH. Sorry you are ill, but please leave before the end of the month.
-

Don't know about you but I find myself wanting Villa to get something at Arsenal.
-
But as usual,we get behind them tomorrow, maybe even wind up the goners with a little rendition of the old heather mills tune !!!!
-
Just found a bet on Ladbrokes. Arsenal to win the game with at least 3 goals being scored (ie, 3-0, 4-0, 2-1, 3-1 etc...) pays evens. Had a fifty on it, thought it was too good to turn down. Had two winners already today with 4 or more goals in the Blackpool game paying me 15/8 and Man City to win paying 9/10. Result!
EDIT; Considering most of us are expecting a hammering tomorrow that bet looks pretty nailed on.
-
Think Arsenal have won 2 of their last 9 league games. At least we are playing them at a decent time. Low on confidence, not as low as ours mind. Am hoping he doesn't risk Fabregas and Nasri...
-

Last time we played them at the Emirates we were in good form and Fabregas kicked our arses. Even without him I think the same is likely to happen tomorrow.
-
Yes I remember it well....just ripped us to bits in a cameo appearance..shudder. Sensible head says we won't get tonked at all...heart is fearing all sorts of things...
-
They need to win to qualify automatically for the chumps league too so it won't be easy.
-
The mail suggest Mcallister is thinking of playing a somewhat experimental side.
I'm hoping he'll shelve this plan after today's results. It's just not worth taking the chance.
I would support a change of formation though, to 4-3-3. I'd play cuellar at right back, makoun alongside stan and NRC and the England trio up front.

I think Makoun might just have his best game for us tomorrow anyway. He looked some player against Man Yoo in January and Arsenal's style of play is less physical than what he's come up against since those early stages of his Villa career.
-
2 nil to Villa!

Absolutely. But, back here in the real world...

Surely, the Mail must be wrong? Experimental sides this season: Man C in the Cup & Spurs on Boxing Day. Plus, McAllister has struggled to manage the first choices since Ged hit A&E.
-
Who'd take a 1-0 defeat now if it were offered?
-
Considering how bad the first picks are I struggle to see how an experimental side could be any worse.
Also, considering the fact that most people on this thread reckon we will be cuffed what difference does it make?
-
Lose 1-0 in 84th minute.

Goal difference.

We haven't lost a league game by more than one goal since manure away at the start of feb, not sure of previous occasion. Two more of those and we stay up for sure. Hooray! An experimental side could get mullered like at citeh. No rhanks
-
Just noticed that arse have conceded 2 league goals at home since Xmas. We've not kept a clean sheet away all season. Not looking promising is it?
-
That wasn't an experimental side at Man City - it was a "surrender, we can't compete" shambles of a side. For that alone, Houllier should not be here next season.
A bloody disgrace.
-
This is getting really tough to call, with Arsenal's recent form. The fact that it's their last Home game of the season just makes me think they'll turn up.
I think it'll either be a 5-1 drubbing, or a scrappy 1-1 draw.
-
If they don't turn up, we may scrape a draw.....
-
How can we lose to jedward ?? LOL
-

That's when he lost me too. And Ashley Young.
-
2-1 Arse
-
2-1 Arse
The sad thing is I would be quite happy with that result
-
I think we'll get something from this game. Take out the Manure result and Arsenal have been pretty poor since the League Cup Final.
-
The worrying thing is, according to yesterday's B'ham Mail Gary Mac is considering an 'experimental' side for this game! He may give the fringe players a chance.... he really thinks we're completely safe and can relax! It only takes both Blues and Wigan to win and us to lose heavily at The Emirates...do you feel relaxed??
-
“The formation may change a little bit,” said the caretaker boss. “There may be room to try a few things.
“I might be looking to do things a little bit differently with different players.”
No Gary, this is not the time to fuck around.

This is what has to happen in order for us to go down -
Wigan beat West Ham (Let's say by 3 goals).
AND
We lose to Arsenal (again we'll say 4 goals).
AND
Birmingham beat Fulham or Tottenham
AND
We lose to Liverpool (again we'll say 4 goals)
AND
Blackburn or Wolves has to finish in a win for one of the teams
AND
Wigan have to win at Stoke (Let's say by 2 goals)
AND
Blackpool have to win at Man Utd (If we lose our 2 games with -7 they would need to win by at least a 3 goal margin).
If people still think that we are going to go down, with all of the above happening, then I suggest they take themselves to the bookmakers and put a pound on it all, because they will become very rich.
I feel relaxed and think we are safe.
-
I really think we will win 2 nil today!
-
Not sure if it is because i was on the lash last night but i have had a change of heart. I am going for 1-1 Bent and Van Persie ..........
-
Is an "experimental" team that bad? Why not bring in the players that want to play and maybe we'll see some fight out of them.
So lets drop Petrov, dunne, Heskey, Ash?! and play Makoun, Cuellar, Gabby and Albrighton from the start.
Ash wants to fuck off so he can do it now as far as I'm concerned.
Delph on the bench as well to replace NRC mid point of second half and make downing the captain.
2-1 Villa!
-
This game has shades of the 5-0 defeat back in 2006 under O'Leary.
-
I really fear for us today.

I would hope that was hoping that we would be mathematically safe today. I think it would be much the same team. Gabby for Heskey and Makoun for Petrov maybe?
Here's to dreaming of a win, hoping for a draw, settling for a one goal loss.
-
I have a feeling we'll be a goal down within 5 minutes
-
Goal difference is the only way we'll go down so i would play defensively. Even if we go one down don't go chasing the game and conceding loads.
-
Still fear a heavy defeat. I can't remember a time when I felt less excited about a Villa game.
-
We're in for a bloody good hiding that's for certain

Thats great and I think , as you say, it would be a very strange scenario indeed to happen - but the fact is - it COULD happen.
There have been plenty of occasions in the past where the seemingly impossible has happened - Albion getting out of it that time being one, the "Dodgy goal" by Wimbledon being another. Look at the year Tevez kept West Ham up by beating Wimbledon - only to send Sheff Utd down - who everyone throught were not even in danger because a set of circumstances similar to what you have just said had to occur - and they did !!!
All I am saying, until it is 100% certain, we should be busting a gut, taking this game as if our life depended on it - not playing an experimental side.
Can you imagine if we played an experimental side and all this weeks scenarios you have just said happened ? - do you want to be going into next weekend looking over your shoulder ?
-
I'm one of the 21 (at this stage) in the poll up there that says we'll win.
(tin hat on, everything crossed, candles burning in front of icon of St. McGregor...with a hotline to McGrath...)
Just thought this thread needed some hope! Come on, lads! Arsenal were rubbish in their last game!
-
Wigan 3-0 West Ham - 24/1
Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa - 16/1
Birmingham win v Fulham - 5/4
Aston Villa 0-4 Liverpool - 40/1
Wolves win v Blackburn - 11/10
Wigan win at Stoke - 12/5
Man Utd 0-3 Blackpool - 125/1
Put £1 on that lot to happen and you'd win £35,271,510.75 according to a bet calculator I've just used.
-

Thats the one that came to my mind too although i think you got it a bit mixed up. Sheff Utd went down when Everton scored against Wimbledon (Hans Segars in goal).

Villa team v Arsenal - 4-3-3 - Friedel; Walker, Dunne, Collins, L Young; Delph, Reo-Coker, Petrov; Downing, Bent, A Young. Subs: Pires, Agbonlahor, Albrighton, Bradley, Heskey, Cuellar, Marshall.

None of the above required anything like the amount of results to go the wrong than we do to get relegated.
Besides, we'll win today so stop worrying.

No real experimentation then, just a game for Delph, which is a good thing I reckon.

I am worried and think we'll get beaten by 5-0 today and we certainly wont win next week and yes I am a miserable bastard, what a crap season it has been.

I dont get many things right
