Just done the predictor thingy and even being generous to our relegation rivals we should be safe, but you can never predict the unexpected and it will only take two of the more fancied relegation sides to beat a couple of the top sides and the picture will change.
If we get the three points against Wigan of course we will be safe, so after the total failure of not being able to cope with a poor ten man Albion side who do we pick to defend our premiership future.
This is my effort.

I'd only swap NRC for Petrov out of that team, Bentman, and only because we're playing Wigan. They may have Diame and Hendry Thomas, but we could still pass it round them with a midfield of Bannan, Petrov and Makoun. And I like your style dropping Collins, I too have had it up to here with his farcical reliance on Dunkirk-style last-ditchery.
-
I dont want see Collins in the team. He was an absolute donkey yesterday.
-
Collins and Dunne fill me with fear every time the ball comes near our box.
Clark doesn't have the experience yet to fill me with complete confidence but with him it's more a case of there being a chance he might make a mistake rather than it being nailed on that he WILL fuck it up massively.
Sandman's line up looks good to me. Petrov and Delph on the bench for use depending on how the game's looking in the last 20 mins. If we're winning, get Petrov out there with fresh legs to put his foot on the ball and hold things up. If we're behind, throw on Delph and throw the kitchen sink at them.
-
I want to get Delph time on the pitch but he hasn't played for weeks so wouldn't start him, i put Walker in midfied because he is aggressive and very quick, Petrov is just too slow for me, Makoun will be good for us next season but he hasn't adjusdted to the pace of the prem.
There are not many on our list that fill me with confidence or who feel they owe any loyalty to the club.

I better be a substitute! ;)

Ideally I'd give the young Swiss lad a run out in goal as I think he has more of a future with us than Marshall.

If by some miracle we sign Walker (although I don't know why he'd want to come here) we should play him on the right wing and stick Downing where he plays best, on the left.

So you'd put a right back in the centre of midfield for a key game? Are you MON is disguise? lol FWIW I'd go for a solid and unspectacular 4-5-1 with Bent on his own up top. Friedel, Walker, Young, Cuellar, Dunne, Downing, NRC, Delph, Makoun, Young and Bent. Don't lose. The point (at least) could be very valuable.

Better than playing the same midfield that could not break down a pathetic ten man West Brom.

Well, here's a thought. Play a different midfield then. Involve Makoun, Delph, Bannan, Albrighton etc, call up Gary Gardner or Michael Bradley. But don't put a right back in the centre of midfield. We are bad enough as it is.

4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3 for me, maybe with Gabby if we're 4-3-3

Everyone seems to have forgotten Pires?
I haven't. I see that cnut every time I close my eyes at night. It's a never ending nightmare.
-
I'd like to see Siegrist in goal but it'll never happen
-
I'd bring back Heskey if he's fit in place of Gabby. That's really the only change i'd make. If Heskey is'nt fit, i'd recall Delfouneso and have him on the bench.
-
If we win we're definitely safe and I wouldn't experiment too much for this game. I wouldn't drop NRC or Petrov, but I would bring in Cuellar for Collins and Heskey for Gabby. And I wouldn't have Pires on the bench, let alone in the starting XI.
