Bit suprising to see the highest paying NFL team (Redskins) only come in at no 71.

Bit suprising to see the highest paying NFL team (Redskins) only come in at no 71.

That's a "Salary Cap" sport with a roster of 50+ per team. Therefore, a lower average is to be expected.

The NBA also has a cap, but there's only 12 players per team

We are the 6th  highest in the EPL ...sort of in line with our position in the tables.
Spurs are obviously over achieving based on wage bill.

Interesting to see all of the NHL and NFL teams clustered together from 67 and up - as UKRS said - there's the salary cap at work.

How accurate is a list that has Portsmouth from the EPL in 72nd place?

Oh no! What have you done?

Luckily I'm about to go into a board meeting for the rest of the morning, so shall spare you any wage bill related nonsense.

Oh no! What have you done?

I know, I can just see the H&V accounting fraternity checking their spread sheets and dossiers on all things Spurs before they start banging their keyboards.

According to that we pay on average £47,000 per week per player.

Ignoring the usual Beye/Warnock hand-wringing there are either some enormous salaries at the top bringing the average up or the younger/minor players in the squad must be on a huge whack. Surely the likes of Albrighton, Delph, Guzan, Delfouneso aren't being paid enough to put the average figure up at that level?

Either their figures are very off or something has gone dramatically wrong somewhere.

Are we talking only sportsmen here? If so I doubt villa have ever released the exact figure. The figures released in any accounting documents would surely include support and admin staff who would definitely not be on 47k per WEEK!

Sounds inaccurate to me
Including non playing full time employees I think we are up near the 300 mark

It's that guy who supposedly lived under the Holte. He's minted.

That fuckwit O'Neil heard about him and offered him a 5 year deal. 90k a week, or so I am told.
