Title: Villa v Baggies - Reserves - 1pm
Post by: Villa'Zawg on April 19, 2011, 09:51:02 AM
"The reserves are looking to build on a two-match unbeaten run in today's lunchtime clash at West Bromwich Albion [ko 1pm].

Kevin MacDonald takes his team to the Baggies' training ground for the penultimate fixture of the Barclays Premier Reserve League season and Villa will be determined to finish on a high.

Although four straight defeats saw Villa slip out of the title race, the boys in claret and blue gained some momentum with a victory over Liverpool at Villa Park and last Tuesday's draw at West Ham.

Second place in the southern section is still a possibility for MacDonald's team if they defeat West Brom today and then Chelsea at Cobham next Tuesday.

The fifth-placed Baggies are also looking to end the campaign on a high.

Keith Downing's side are on a six-match unbeaten run, having had a succession of draws followed by a 3-1 win at Chelsea on Thursday.

Villa drew 1-1 with their Midlands rivals at Bodymoor Heath in November in a match where Robert Pires made his first start in a claret and blue shirt.

Nathan Delfouneso scored after the break for Villa to cancel out an early penalty from Lateef Elford-Alliyu. "

They've upgraded now to playing murderball and germans by the garages.
Until the old woman rings the police anyway.

at 430 Birmingham Road to be precise....

Directions to West Bromwich Albion Training Ground

430 Birmingham Road
Great Barr
Walsall
WS5 3LQ

Exit M6 at Jct 7, take A34 towards Walsall.  Go past Holiday Inn (on right), continue along dual carriageway for approx. ½ mile, passing Aston University Playing Fields on the left.

WBA Training Ground is situated on the left-hand side, just before Handsworth Rugby Club and is clearly marked Aston Maintenance Depot.

I got those directions from a welsh academy site so can't vouch for them.

Osbourne's back from Sheffield Wednesday then.

That Tchoyi played well against us in the league game at Villa Park.

HT Baggies 0 v 1 Villa, Gardner penalty after a "harshly judged" handball by Downing (not that one, their one).

We won 2-0.

Gary Gardner penalty and a low strike for the second goal (I forget who by).

Interestingly we were playing Warnock in central-midfield.

I think we played Warnock because some scouts were there and we want rid of the twat.

Houllier was there too and Gary Gardner was trying to catch the eye. He must surely make a squad before the season is out. Hopefully getting on for a taster.

Don't try and sound so cool you tried to get in for half an hour, checked whether there were any games at Stourbridge, then called the council to see if anyone was playing at metchley Lane in harborne,  then finally when you realised that the pub over the road had Sky Sports News you popped in to to see if you could catch the Havant & Waterlooville v Dartford goals from last night.

Are you sure it wasn't "comedienne" Olivia Lee doing The Bouncer Bitch character for a skit on her TV show?

Sounds like the sort of thing she would do,  saying that Bono had decided to attend and he didn't want any riff raff with upper case user names getting in.
