I am guessing this was posted on youtube by the same guy who did the Atkinson videos as again this video is titled "Dalian Atkinson" which is strange as it only features him hobbling off with a groin injury. Anyways, the footage is priceless as always, a fantastic moment for Deano to score at Anfield against a shocking Liverpool side and lovely interviews afterwards with Deano and Rico. Quality stuff and great memories - and i'd forgotten how good Garry Parker's goal was.

Magic, remeber it well :)

Great day and the first time I saw us win at Anfield. A great version of "the bells" ringing out as well!

So do I and as I think I have mentioned before, I went absolutely mental when we scored the second goal and as I was sitting on the end of a row, my celebrations resulted in a copper flying down the steps.

Why does Saunders' training top have the initials 'JB' on?

I imagine he's wearing the then assistant manager Jim Barron's jacket.

He was utterly unplayable in that first half, then he hobbled off and that was really the last time we saw him playing at the level he was.
But for 4 months he was one of the best players I've seen.

Fantastic result, great goals, superb kit, what a team we had back then.

Me and my mate sat in thẹ Centenary stand for that game, next to a blue nose who had a season ticket at Anfield cuz he liked to see "good" football. Thẹ Scousers weren't to pleased when me and my mate went mental when Villa scored. Felt relieved to get out alive afterwards though!

Brilliant. I was in the centenary stand with about 100 Villa fans that went mental, their lot were not best pleased we'd got so many in their end. At the final whistle you could see there were a couple of hundred in their section of the Anfield road end.

I nearly fell off my bike on my paperound when I heard Saunders goal on my walkman. Did a celebration whilst pedalling down the street.

Was good to be there, winning at Anfield was a was a great acheivement still back then.

We've only won three times there since i believe. Last season and twice under John Gregory, one of which was when Bossie laid a wreath in memorial to Hillsborough and Ian Taylor scored one of the easiest, jammiest goals he'd ever score.

Remember it well, Liverpool fans heads down and chins dragging on the floor as we came out the ground.

That was a great day. I took my now 31 year old son, 13 at the time, to his first away game. Sitting in a local pub pre match, a local scally came in selling a basket full of 'knock off'. After listening to his banter my lad remarked that, " They really do sound like they do on Brookside".
Anyone else remember a fight starting on the Kop that day and both proponents, ( one with a bloody nose ), being led down past the away end?
-
The Coppers shut the Arkel as it got a bit too rowdy. We found another pub at the back of the kop and had a drink there with no problems. On the way out of the pub there were some undesirable intent on trouble Villa fans who were earlier in the Arkel picking on anybody who was a Liverpool fan.

Always nice to see a win against Liverpool, though I have to admit a grudging admiration for Barnes's composure for the opener. Then you see Parker's finish and that's all forgotten!
-
Great day. To cap it all I had put a couple of bob on us winning 2-1.
Even better, it was at an independently owned bookies near the ground.
