Title: A real pity
Post by: brontebilly on March 31, 2011, 03:29:30 AM
England played some good stuff the other night with

Cahill, Barry, Milner, Downing, Young and Bent (on Wednesday), Walker in squad

added to that we have Clark, Albrighton, Reo Coker, Delph, Cuellar all top professionals.

We really could have had a fine team if we could have kept them together.

Ba££y I couldn't care less about, I still believe we got the best out of him.
Cahill looks like a proper balls up when you consider we effectively replaced him with Zat Knight.
Milner has been a massive loss.

Young will go to his next club and prove to be a valuable asset, playing on the wing where he belongs.
Walker will be a star at Spurs.

I personally think Barry & especially Milner have gone backwards at city, OK they'll earn more ££ at city but look at Milner he's spent most of him limited appearances on the wing

Milner is wasted on the wing, he's also the sort of player who needs to play week in, week out.

I just wish we could have Milner back he played much better for us than he has at Man Shitty.

Unfortunately if Milner were to leave Man City in the summer (something I very much doubt) he'd go to a lot better side than we are it's sad to say.

If Milner and Cahill were in our squad now we'd be in the top ten I reckon.

We still have a good squad if only the manager picked the right players from it in the right formation and made them want to play for him and not get as far away from him as possible!  They all play well enough with their international squads.

You'd think.

But he wants to play in the centre. He's by no means guaranteed to get his wish if he joined one of the Sky lot or Tottingham.

He knows the club, is held in high regard and if he had a few options he might decide to opt for the devil you know (or knew in our case) rather than another stint in and out of a side (or on the wing) at a club with similar aspirations to Citeh.

We'd need to indicate a degree of ambition (ideally starting with a less divisive manager) and I couldn't seeing it happen this summer. But if he has another season at Citeh like this one and we're in decent shape next summer, who knows.

I must admit the thought of a midfield of Makoun, Milner and Delph gives me the horn!

I'd agree with this.

Never say never.

Yes, we'd do well with those 3 in the centre with Albrighton/Downing on the wing.

If Villa bought back Cahill, Barry and Milner and got rid of Dunne, Petrov, Warnock, and Ireland. Do you think we will be a decent team.

Wasn't she a reasonably well known soul singer as well?  I'm sure I read that somewhere last week.

Gloria Jones, did the original of 'Tainted love' and wrote a few songs for Motown.

If MON had just bought Bent 3 years ago when Harry wanted rid, they might still be here and it might be us in the top 4. We bought HEskey. He has been a roaring success and the rest is history.
