Title: Carlos Cuellar - Facebook/Twitter
Post by: VillaZogmariner on March 22, 2011, 09:49:31 AM
I was going to call the topic - "Some of our fans are twats".

For those of us sad enough to use the above sites I'm sure we're all aware that Carlos posts on them quite often. Anyway, this is his status update this morning -

Quote
"good morning everybody it is a beautiful day to training ;-) have a good day and enjoying the sun xxxx;-)"

This is what one "fan" posted in the comments -

Quote
"Can you crunch herd and baker so they don't play rest of the season"

Whatever is happening on the pitch, cuntish comments like that are hardly going to help the situation are they.

Fuckwitted.

As was that banner, and as is this talk of a protest before Newcastle. Although I can bet which bright spark thought that one up, or will at least be very supportive of it.

I despair if we're going to go down the VFC 'Look at me, look at me' route again.
People like that lame brain with the banner are just interested in making a name for themselves.

Instead of a protest pre-Newcastle, how about a call to arms?
Something to crank up the atmosphere and make some noise?

Chris is an annoying tit, but he knows his football and is passionate about the Villa.
I reckon it was Gnasher.

So glad I clicked on this thread!

So, where is this talk of a protest at the Newcastle game? Fucking incredible that anyome would think that would help and would not make us look even more ridiculous to the outside world than we already do.

Some kids on Facebook I think.  Don't reckon it will amount to anything personally, I clicked on one link and it said 20 people were attending.

So the protesters are going to meet up in a pub they were going to go to anyway, and then march to the match that they were going to anyway too?

irrespective of what anyone thinks of the manager, we still all need the club to do well. If we, as fans, only add to the obvious levels of pressure, then we may as well just pack up now. There has been so much vitriol and bad feeling over the past two weeks. We need to draw a line under all of it now and come together. No more banners. No more calls for dismissals, and protests. Let's get behind the club so that it gets to the summer in one piece and start the rebuilding work then. Relegation would be a calamity. I've felt that pain once, and I never want us to go through it again.

Would it really accomplish anything?

If you want to express your disatisfaction write to the General and he'll pass it on to Randy.

Agreed. We've got to get 100% behind the team now and focus completely on staying up. We're deep in a relegation fight, our form is poor, and our confidence is fragile. The General and (presumably) Randy are fully aware of our feelings. The time for protests is not now - the media would have a feeding frenzy which will only do us more harm.

Regardless of your opinion of GH the club have clearly stated that he's here until the end of the season.  I take this as fact, Randy has a good record of doing what he says in these matters.  In my opinion that leaves us with 2 options, neither of which will oust GH:

1. Voice dissent and have crowds like we had at the Wolves game.
2. Get behind the team.

If we go route 1 then I can see performances degrading further as confidence takes a hit and the players start to become scared of making mistakes (particularly at home).  I seem to remember the England team had this issue at Wembley a while back.  It will also strengthen the hands of any dissenters within the squad who may well like nothing better than to see us fail.  It will not oust GH before the end of the season and it will not help us to stay up.

If we go route 2 then we can have an affect on the team, I will even go so far as to say it could make the difference between staying up or going down.  When we're at our best Villa Park can deliver a very impressive atmosphere.

As you can probably tell I prefer route 2, I've put my thoughts on GH on hold, at least until we're safe or the season's over.

My viewpoint has always been that if you pay your money to watch your football team you are entitled to your opinion, and are entitled to voice your dissent if you so wish.

If people want to protest, good luck to them. I wont be joining, but I wont be having a go at them for doing something they have a right to do.

It's not the fans who are the problem at the club- it's the staff and players who need to do their job. The fans are behind the team but we are being badly let down .

I was going to give you the dog’s abuse face palm for suggesting such a happy clapper thing but maybe you're right, perhaps I'm barking larf like Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind. Perhaps this is where it all unravels and none of you Messiahs really exist.

The backing of the crowd just might have seen us to the wins at home to Everton and Man City.  We have to give it everything between now and season's end.

It'll be OK. Paul the Villain has nigh on "snookered" Twitter with his "call to arms" tweets. If ever the UK get invaded, he'll be the man to do the speeches. P.S. If you are in the Troc, you can buy him a pint. ;-)
