Fooking puffs - not a pair of pink / yellow / green boots in sight, no snoods, gloves or socks pulled up over their knees. No hair bands or people employed just to hand the players drinks

How would those players have coped with the tough conditions of modern day footballers !

Wouldn't we have ended up at home in the QF a few years ago if Micah Richards hadn't scored that late header at VP to force a replay?

It was, I think, the biggest Villa Park crowd I ever experienced, several thousand more than the Man U League Cup SF. My father, my brother and I arrived at 1 o'clock to get decent places at the Holte End. With about an hour to go before kick-off you just couldn't move, and during the game if, like us, you were behind a barrier, you were crushed by the surge of the crowd behind you when Villa scored.

69732 according to records. The bigger Witton Lane Stand would have enabled getting a few more in plus less concerns about safety.
