What a absolutely refreshing change!
All the overpaid prima donnas of the Premier league take note.
'Because I'm not worth it': Baseball pitcher gives back $12m annual salary he didn't feel he had earned
Here'a a story from today's Daily Mail.
It's about an honest guy who know's how to show it.
Gil Meche your the man.

Over to you, Habib Beye...

Meche has retired due to injury.
Its his salary for the 2011 season (which was guaranteed by contract, as long as he stayed with the team or was on their injury rehabilitation plan) that Meche is not taking.
I've not read anywhere (other than in the above article) that he's handing back money that he's already received / earned.
Therefore "give back" is a misleading term.
The following appears to be a more accurate report

Well done to him i say.

If I remember rightly a few seasons ago an American centre half called 'Onyewu'(?) missed most of the season through injury whilst playing for AC Milan and at the end of the season he signed a one year extension in which bs wouldn't be paid at all as he felt guilty for collecting his wages whilst injured the previous season.
