Friedel - Walker, Collins, Dunne, Clark - Petrov, Makoun - Albrighton, Downing, Young - Bent.
subs: Parrish, Cuellar, Baker, NRC, Bannan, Agbonlahor, Heskey (reluctantly leaving Delf out altogether)
And I reckon that will be enough for a hard fought 1-0 win. You know who to score.
Be a risk to start with Makoun, I reckon. He'll only have had a couple of days with us and he's completely new to English football. Give hin 20 minutes and let him make his first start in the cup game.True enough, Reo can start then.
Wigan is a MUST win game - no point beating City and losing there ...... lets push on and upwards -
Wigan is a MUST win game
The team worked so hard against Man City I fear this tuesday game may be coming a little too soon for a potentially leggy set of players.
While I'd love a win, I'll be happy enough with a draw. A defeat at Wigan, followed by a visit to Old Trafford could see us back in the bottom three.

Nothing like a bit of optimism, is there!?
Wigan is a MUST win game
No it isn't, we've given ourselves a bit of breathing space with the Citeh win and have a run of very winnable games after Man Utd.
A draw wouldn't be a bad result.
fook, what a difference a week makes . 95% villa win at the moment , would have been 34% last mth.. Villa 2-0 Bent , YoungOur owner's randy and our goalscorers are young and bent - so maybe we should look forward to playing away more.
I'm sorry but considering where we are, every game should be seen as a " must win game". Once we have 40 points then maybe this will cease.Wigan is a MUST win game

It's not a "must win" in the sense of the battle against relegation, but it's a vitally important match all the same.
If we win this and maybe get a point at Old Trafford, I reckon we've built ourselves a platform for a charge up the table - we'd certainly have a head of steam worked up.
I just hope we don't repeat the Chelsea - Sunderland let down and lose the momentum.
While it's not a must win game,as drawing it wouldn't ruin our chances of moving up the table, but if we do win,we open a good gap between us and the bottom three.-----
Whats the news about Walker? If he played,i could see him getting alot of joy with Albrighton and creating chances for Bent.
Anyone know if you can pay on the door at Wigan ?

I saw somebody mention that tickets will be on sale at the gate from 6pm. Worth contacting the Ticket Office or Wigan to check.

Not a must win game ? what planet are you on ? we have Man utd after this in the league. Lose both these games and we are back in the bottom three. Get real , we need every game down as a win until the end of the season , just to make this a "transitional" period ......
This is an absolutely vital game to win. If we do, we'll be 6 points clear of Wigan with a much better goal difference. We'll also be around midtable, which would obviously give everybody a big confidence boost. Lose, and we then play Man U still firmly entrenched in the relegation mire.
Huge, huge, must win game.
We've sold out 3000 and theres tickets available on the night.
3-1 to us, Bent hat trick.
Think Makoun will be on the bench as will Heskey ?
Can't see GH changing a winning team ?
Our allocation was 3000 which we sold out, but the end holds 5000 so there are tickets available on the night tomorrow. We've sold out 3000 and theres tickets available on the night.

Sorry mate did you say we have sold out? or can we pick up tickets in the away end tomorrow?

Why won't he start Makoun and Heskey? The lads have just had a couple of weeks off, they must be as ready to play as they will ever be. Walker should be fit, and Wigan's 1st choice centre backs are both out. This is not a must win, it's a will win.Because Heskey is mostly rubbish.

I think it worth introducing Makoun at Wigan rather the unpredictability of a FA cup game or at OT. He is a big lad, he will be fine. Why won't he start Makoun and Heskey? Not according to the man who will be picking the side who has included him almost every time he's been able to.
Makoun is new to Englsih football and has had little time to get know the players so it would be a risk.
3hr 24 mins according to aa autoroute, doesnt factor in rush hr traffic though so could be stuffedNot on the TV, im sure we will find a steam............Blackpool v Man Utd on ESPN and Arsenal v Ipswich on SKY
Is it on the box ?

For this one I'd put in Bannan instead of Gabby and move Downing to the left.
Pissed off, I've got a 2pm meeting tomorrow in Cheshunt which wont finish til 3 earliest
What time is KO 745pm ?
Would I make it to Wigan in time ? Whats the parking like there ? never been before

Just say you popped "Chester" into your Sat Nav instead of Cheshunt and by the time you realised your mistake you would have missed the meeting anyway.
Christ I`ve lived up here too long ...I `m starting to think like a Scouser :)

then i'd look like a plonkr isn't it
You can always rely on a scouser for a good scam 8)

A Silhilian if you don`t mind sir !!
Gabby has got to get on the score sheet. His justification for being in the starting team is slipping away. O-2 Gabby Downing ...
It's better than yours! ;)
So why Skysports is not showing the game I mean they have no live football tomorrow.
I'd go
Brad
Walker
Dunne
Collins
Clark
Young
Petrov
Reo Coker
Downing
Heskey
Bent
Subs - Marshall, Cuellar, Makoun, Albrighton, Gabby, Delf, Hogg
Anyone know how many are travelling up?
For away fans?Anyone know how many are travelling up?
We sold out the 3000 allocation we took (which is good for a Tuesday night, regardless of the cheap tickets and Wigan being a place everyone takes loads to) plus there are more tickets on the door tonight.

Yes you can pay cash at the turnstiles, this was the case for the original fixture. No reason why things should have changed.
Makoun in for albrighton otherwise un-changed side from sat me thinks. On VillaTalk the general has said Makoun still hasn't had chance to train yet so highly doubt he'll be in tonight.

What's wrong with Albrighton? Injury? Sick?
Would love to see him play tonight.
True. What's wrong with Albrighton? Injury? Sick?

Nothing that I know of. Just think we need to make sure we don't over play some of our youngsters. Rest them plus keep them hungry for more!
I think any side we put out tonight should have a good chance. I would like to see a 4-4-2 with Bent and Heskey up front. Bent would relish Hesky's knock ons.Spot on Bren.
anyone watching the game in pubs?

Plus, his knock ons and passes have been slide rule since Gerard has been here.
I think Bent could make a good partnership with him.
may I be the first to ask...anyone got a link?Take your pick.
