Title: Players City fans would take if we went down.
Post by: Holtenderinthesky on January 19, 2011, 09:19:58 AM
Just found this on a Manc forum.  I used to not mind Man City fans on the whole but they are becoming Liverpool, Man United, Spurs and Newcastle fans all rolled into one. Who do they think they are?

Strange to see Petrov mentioned as one they'd take from us.  There are also some who want Ireland back.   :o

God I hope we stuff em on Saturday.

I think Albrighton would get offers pretty fast from the two wankers in Manchester and Chelsea but I'm under the impression he'd stay with us.

That's it, I'm being too optimistic again.

We thought the same about newcastle.  It's a natural thought to see which top players you can get cheap.

Particularly annoying is the comment about them signing Albrighton "to see if he could make it".  Tossers.

Yes, cocky b******s.....

But which of our players would make their first 11, or even first 16?

I reckon Bent, Albrighton, Walker, Makoun, Petrov, Downing, and Ash would have a half-decent chance.

To be honest the majority of those posts are reasonable enough. They have moved into a different stratosphere to us, no point denying it.

I would be massively shocked if Mancini moved for any of our players this summer. They have the money to buy the finished article, so dont think he is of a wont to waste his time developing our youngsters.

Really hope we stuff them on Saturday all the same. I really cant stand Cook, Mancini and more or less all their players.

The early posts on the MC thread seem remarkably well though out, then it descends into dribble not unlike most of our threads.

I was reading that thread as well as one they had about Darren Bent and there was some comment like " As if Dzeko is only 1 and a half times better than Bent".  Most of them have probably never seen him (Dzeko) play and yet are bigging him up and slating one of England's top strikers and suggesting we'd overpaid.  Well, we all know who to thank for that!   They have an attitude now, a bad one.  They are getting so fuckin cocky and I really hope they win fuck all.  As usual.

Why?

There was an identical thread on here when Newcastle went down. And if we were in the top six we'd probably have a similar thread on here about Liverpool now.

Did we arrongantly say that none of the Newcastle team would get in our squad though?    I know I didn't, I thought Owen, Martins, Duff, Taylor to name a few, could all do a job for us.  They are suggesting that only Albrighton or Ash would be "worth a punt" and only then to put on the bench.  I really don't think their squad is THAT good.  Kolarov, De Jong, Viera?  Meh.

I have always disliked Man City. In fact, more than Man Utd. Their fans are the only fans, other than the obvious exceptions, to sing SOTV. It bugs me, and always has. Mancs are horrible people, and always love to take the piss out of people from Birmingham. Since they have had the money, they have been worse.

Tramps that have won the lottery sums that horrid club up.

I have very little left to say about Man City - only that, for me, beating them would be more satisfying than beating Blues. Maybe this is because I don't live in the city, and maybe if I did it would be different, but while losing to the Blues is horrible, beating them wouldn't give me nearly the same satisfaction as beating City would. Everything that club has done, all their arrogant players, their efficiency driven manager, their nauseating directors - everything they've done to us in particular - makes them far more effective hate figures than Blues in my book.

I'm pretty sure I said I wouldn't have any Newcastle players in a gift.

The one exception may have been their good right back. Can't recall his name or what became of him.

Kolarov or de Jong would stroll into our team very comfortably.

Our best player from last season can't get in their team, I see no reason why they would want many of our current players in the first XI. Nor, considering the money they've spent is that something we should necessarily be ashamed of.

In fairness I think City have the strongest squad in the league.
