Was it Big Ron who said that Carlton Palmer covered every blade of grass on the pitch but only because his control was so crap!

Why Barnsley? Or have I missed something?
-
Just had a quick look on a Sheff Weds forum, it would appear all their players are crap. I can only assume we're after a Huddersfield player.
-
Neil Mellor?

That reminds me of another Big Ron gem. When asked if he thought Kevin Richardson had handled the ball against Blues in the box he replied along the lines of “Handled it, I think he was trying to get the lace out of it!”

A bloke I do some business with is a ST holder at Hudds, he reckons their keeper could play at a higher level but thats about it.

From ground to ground about 21 miles.

Aston Villa are set to test the resolve of hard up Sheffield Wednesday with a cut price bid for striker Clinton Morrison. Villa manager Gerard Houllier is a long time admirer of the much travelled striker and attended today's Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield to personally run the rule over the former Birmingham City and Crystal Palace marksman. Villa are set to firm up their interest in the next 48 hours with a bid of around £2.5m expected to be too tempting for Wednesday to ignore. Morrison would become Houllier's first major signing since his arrival at Villa Park in September.
-
Very funny!
-
I was watching that game thinking what a tool Morrison is too! Almost had a heart attack when I started reading that.
And The Saturdays are immense!

I fully expect it to be a Mirror article within the next day or so.

Smithies (the 'keeper) is pretty highly rated.
-
I have a mate who is a Port Vale fan and Houllier was there for their game today too?? I assume one of the games was an early kick off then?

It goes to prove how easy it is to write such a transfer rumour for a newspaper and make it sound convincing . I thought is was serious too.

Alex Smithies.
I've enjoyed some of the films he has directed.
-
Does Kevin Pressman still have any involvement with Sheff Wed?
He may be trying to get him to Villa to make Dunne look fit and svelte.
-
Are we finally in for David Hirst ?
-
Tribal Football reckon it's Huddersfield keeper Smithies (http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/aston-villa-launching-bid-huddersfield-keeper-smithies-1365481).

Anyone know if he is any good?
