4-4-2 then if true? Can't see anyone else playing in behind the striker when Ireland is clearly not at the races..
-
Gabby & Heskey then.
-
Maybe he doesn't want to get injured before his January transfer ;-)
-
Would not be surprised if ash has kicked his final ball in a villa shirt.
-
We need this weekend's snow to last for a month and all games to be cancelled
-
Has Houllier driven a truck into a Hall of Mirrors?

Nah, can't see him going in January. End of season, maybe.
With the situation as it is - lower half of the table and not enough players I can't believe a sale would be agreed in the winter.
WTF do I know though! This club never fails to surprise (disappoint) me with our best players...
-
We don't know if it's true yet! Let's wait and see our press conference.
-
An alternative to Heskey and 442 would be to push Bannan a tad further forward and put NRC into midfield.
-
May as well get used to it.
-
On the OS he's out with knee injury but hoping to be back for Spurz
-
What's all the bollocks on the Sun website about The General having to make a U-turn? Arseholes.
-
No doubt we'll miss him hugely, the positive is that somebody else will be taking the set pieces though
-
-
A huge miss as although as with all good players his form may fluctuate his effort and energy is greatly missed as seen in the liverpool game.
-
We'll have to see how we cope now. I personally welcome going 2 up front, because we really do need more firepower, and to score more goals. Ash has been off form this season and he's really struggling to make an impact as 2nd striker.
I felt he needed dropping for a game or two anyway, just because we're so reliant on him and he's got no risk of being dropped it seems. I don't see him getting a kick up the ass that a spell on the bench could give him.
It's down to whoever takes his place in the 11 to cement a place, and then it's down to Ashley to earn his spot back when he returns. I won't say it's a blessing in disguise, because dropped or not, if he's on the bench we can bring him on should it be needed. But of course injured, he's now not an option.
There's always Pires...

Up steps Barry Bannon.
I think Reo and Hoggy holding down the midfield and protecting the defence.
-
It will give us a chance to see what we can do without Ashley and Ashley to watch us.
-
Downing takes better set pieces & crosses better than Ashley Young in my opinion.
-
Heskey & Gabby up front.
Downing,Albrighton wide - 2 out of Bannan,Hogg & Reo Coker in the middle.
Good enough to hurt Wigan in my opinion.
-
I think we should go two upfront as we are not scoring enough in my oppinion.

Yeah like when Ash was suspended against Liverpool..................

Could you imagine anyone making that comment last season?

And that's why we missed two massive opportunities to make top four.
It would have been an accurate yard stick without Ash today, because we now have a fit albrighton and have heskey and NRC available.
Liverpool was just a shambles start to finish.
-
No Bannan for the Liverpool game either.
