Title: Post match traffic at VP update
Post by: TimTheVillain on December 14, 2010, 03:10:55 PM: Lee Preece at AVFC ( the club) 'phoned me this am.

The club has now achieved Council support on traffic control around VP on match days, so the previous problems re. leaving the ground after games will be sorted.

I think the route from Aston Social towards the Prince of Wales pub is being controlled in this way and Lee was hoping that it will be back to 'business as usual' in the not too distant future !

I was amazed that he 'phoned to be honest - I have to say, us fans are treated well by the club on many occasions.

Post by: DeKuip on December 15, 2010, 12:15:00 AM: Aston Hall Road has run much better the last two home games since they stopped traffic turning into from Lichfield Road after games. Well done at last to those involved... it only took a season and half to sort out!
But better late than never, as I always used to say when I got home last season.

Can I stop running out the ground on the full time whistle back to the leisure centre car park to try and beat the rush now ? Im not going any younger.

I'm still operating a policy of skedaddling as soon as the whistle goes, although the ratio of run to walk is reducing somewhat.

I noticed after the Albion game that they'd stopped oncoming traffic down Aston Hall Road, which improved things massively.
