Which final did the Albion win in 1967-68 by beating Forest 2-1? It was shown on TV (as were all of their previous rounds) and goalkeeper John Osborne was their star man.
Arsenal won it the previous year, beating Dunfermline 7-3, and Celtic, Derby and Dunfermline won it in later years before it was finally ditched.
I'm pretty sure Villa never competed, but I do know that Dr Who himself Jon Pertwee appeared in the 1971 final as Dunfermline's guest supporter.

And do you know why Dundee's entry was "doomed" when they were drawn against Arsenal in 1969. "Doomed I tell ya!"

don't tell them your name pike

The Dalkon Shield?
-
Arsenal won it the previous year, beating Dunfermline 7-3,
there was hat=tricks for gordon jackson (dunfernline) and jimmy young (arsenal) in this final

Ted Moult scored five for Forest against Celtic in 67... Alex Ferguson netted Falkirk's winner against Huddersfield in 1970.
For anyone just tuning in - the wrong answers given so far are the Watney Cup, Texaco Cup and a contraceptive device!

jackson also got a hat-trick in the Q/F against tottenham and also in the semi final against southampton

Ha! I know this one, excellent question though.
Shall I give the answer or prolong it just a little while longer?
*EDIT* To prove I'm not bluffing I'll PM DeKuip with the answer.

Quiz Ball
Sorry, had to actually do so work for an hour!
Yes QUIZBALL.
The BBC TV quiz game played between football teams in a knock-out cup format, i game per week. It was hosted (refereed) originally by David Vine and later by Stuart Hall.
I always remember the Albion having a big advantage in that John Osborne seemed to know everything, and my memory told me they always used to win it - but checking things out that wasn't the case.
I was just getting into football when it came on, and I guess it was responsible in many ways for my sudden lust for football knowledge as child - helped by Santa bringing me The Observer Book of Football.
If you want to know more about it read this blog I found...
http://heyharri.blogspot.com/2007/10/quiz-ball.html (http://heyharri.blogspot.com/2007/10/quiz-ball.html)
Each team had four players, three were players or the manager, and one was a guest celebrity fan.
The Beeb should bring it back - I'm sure the clubs would release their star players to take part!!
-
I vaguely remember Quizball, they should bring it back.
Also bring back Superstars, Take Your Pick, Criss Cross Quiz, Juke Box Jury, Fireball XL5, Its a Knockout (with a Saturday morning FA cup final edition) and Jeux Sans Frontieres (Here come the Belgians ! ;D ;D )
