Post by: london lion on November 29, 2010, 06:13:48 PM
The rumour mill seems to be turning at a thousand miles an hour at the moment regarding wednesdays game.
Here is one ive heard today
West Mids Police are asking West Mids Travel to supply buses to take Villa fans back to Aston after the game en masse.

Will they be adding signs to the windows saying "throw rocks here-->" ?

I don't want to go back to Aston.  We'll be parked somewhere around the sty.

It's a bit late to organise something like this.

Even it it were possible to organise, where would they park the buses?  Wouldn't the buses be open targets for abush by the idiots looking for trouble?

Again, its a rumour i heard today,i suppose we will only know on wednesday
I think it might be pie in the sky,but lets be honest win, lose, draw there will be large scale trouble unfortunatley
A place not for the faint hearted come 10pm,i wouldnt be surprised if it is on the same scale of nastiness not seen since the game in the 2nd division when Bruno scored the headers
I really cant see the Police just filming the trouble and then knocking doors at 6am a few weeks later, they ill no doubt deploy the TSG to keep a lid on it and they are a law unto thereselves.

Judging by the weather forecast I've just seen it'll be too cold to hang around after the game for trouble.  However, any idiots who do hang about, I think snowballs containing goodness knows what could be a problem.

These predictions of armageddon could become a self fulfilling prophecy, why is this one going to be any worse than the others?

The fact that its a night game, the pubs will have been open all day and that fans off both sides will have been drinking
for a fair part of the day

Add in the fact that our performances are not exactly the best at the moment, our horrific injury list, and coming off the back of a bit of a hiding from arsenal, makes the rags think they have a better than average chance of winning the game.

Two potential reasons; one it's a night game and history of night derbies would suggest it's likely to go off. Two, one of their old main faces got sat on his arse by a young Villa lad, who is something of a handy boxer, after the game the other week.

I met him last week, nice fella as it happens.

I cant see it myself, there is going to be a spot of bother in town but there will be that many coppers and cameras round the ground I cant see it being any worse than usual.

Think about this one for a second. How likely is it that they'd take everyone back to Aston without telling them before?

About as likely as it was to start doing the big escort through Digbeth without telling everybody ??

There's a couple of differences there.

Can't see it, it would have to have been explained to people before hand, In other words WMP have no idea how to police this fixture...AGAIN!

Before u get too excited this is only a "internet rumour" and at the end of the days if both sets of fans behaved themselves and acted like "responsible adults" then the police should have nothing to do

What a lovely notion, maybe we could all sit together like they do at the merseyside derby
(To be read with a massive sense of irony)
I think however it pans out it will end up in a lose/lose situation,i hate to have to say it but i fear that come thursday morning, this board will be awash with various horror stories of the previous night
I just hope we get the right result to ease the lumps and bruises

All supporters clubs coaches have to be at VP for 6.30, from there they'll be an escort to the ground, after the game the coaches will be taken back to Villa park unless you need to break off at Edgbaston (but not before)

Edgbaston? But that's in the opposite direction to Aston from Bordesley. Are they throwing in a magical mystery tour?

Life would be boring without Internet rumours.

I think that's the way they always take coaches out from there.

The lastest rumour is that Villa fans will be loaded into cattle trucks and taken to Gas Street Basin where fleets of barges and narrow boats will ferry them to Alvechurch Marina.

It is further rumoured that The Lulus have been tipped off and will dispatch war parties armed with pea shooters and catapults to the canal bank in Selly Oak and Kings Norton to ambush the hapless Villains in repayment for the Great Burlington Arcade Massacre.

If the canal freezes over than all bets are off and you will have to make your own way home.

God bless you all.
