Title: Sheffield Utd - FA Cup 3rd Round
Post by: Drummond on November 29, 2010, 01:22:11 PM
Hi folks,

as I live in Sheffield, this is the only fixture within reasonable walking distance of home (and thus drinking is achievable), and my girlfriend and her family all support Sheffield Utd, I NEED a ticket for this one.

In case they don't get to General Sale and anyone is feeling kind enough, some assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks muchly.

I don't see a problem with you getting a ticket, there were only approx. 15,000 for our 3rd round game there in 2005.

Err...non-league fan and glory hunter here who would also quite fancy this one.
Please give your tickets to more deserving causes first of course.

You should be fine, you get up to 6000 tickets at Sheffield United but i wouldn't be surprised if we didn't even take 3000 up there.

My brother and me aren't going so you can have our season ticket client reference if you like? Will PM them you unless you're already sorted.

I think Blackcountry  Villa works for the club in some capacity.  He seems to know what is what.

When are we going to announce ticket details for this game ?
Title: Re: Sheffield Utd - FA Cup 3rd Round

On the OS today.

Its a bargain at £12 adults and £5 kids for season ticket holders and only £17 for adult non season ticket holders.

Tickets on sale on Monday for 7 league aways and 5 league aways going to 3 league aways on the Tuesday etc etc etc

I'd assume initial allocation of 3,000 with more to come (should get up to 4,900 if we're allowed the 15%).

£12 is a bargain !

Its 3pm on a Saturday, we may have a new signing or two on display, and we may even be in with a shout of winning a football match.

Best of all, for me its still the greatest competition in the world.

I'm quite tempted by the £12 offer, but put off by the fact our record there is played two, lost two in games I've been at. We also lost on my only trip to Hillsborough (Dalian scored for them).

There's only 148 tickets left of the 3,000.

Just got mine.

£32 ticket & travel.

Coach leaves at 10:30.

Bargain.

Now increased to 4,800 thank McGrath as I have been similarly hopeless getting my ticket for this.

Got mine.  Never been there before.  Quality price and mate has got £16 return on the train.  Hopefully, we'll sell close to the full allocation and should be a cracking atmosphere.

Any recommendations for boozers?

If you like real ale Sheffield has some very good places including the national pub of the year for the past two or three years, its on the wrong side of the city though.

Sheffield's the best city for decent pubs in the country. You won't have to go far to get a good one.

Look, I'm too old to be mixing with the yoof these days! I just want a decent pint in a good pub where I don't have to queue four deep at the bar and be showered with lager when the kids get a bit excited as KO time nears!
Each to their own though, hope you have a great day.

As well as The Howard (opposite the station) there is The Globe just up the hill from it. Both away pubs.

It is a great little pub, depending on how ast you walk it's 10-20 mins away. 0.7 miles.

Walking Guide (http://walkit.com/walk/?city=sheffield&from=Sheaf+View&fuid=1827678_2037543&to=Sheffield+united&tuid=1844764_2073278&rta=new&direct=0)

You can park nearby but it's street parking (a little annoying to get in and out of as there's a mini one-way system by it) and it gets busy when there's a match on as a lot of United fans go in there. It's respectable.

I really liked the pub, it was friendly and we parked not too far away, a walk which was eventful to say the least!
