I wouldn't be surprised if it was at 2 or 3 but I expect it will be 4 or 5.
Things will get worse before they get better, sadly BUT things will get better probably around January and February.
-
I see 11 points
Mon 6 20:00 A Liverpool 1 point
Sat 11 15:00 H West Bromwich Albion 3 points
Sat 18 15:00 A Wigan Athletic 3 points
Sun 26 17:30 H Tottenham Hotspur 3 points
Tue 28 15:00 A Manchester City 1 point

I remember when we used to do these threads.
Minimum required - 6. We'll get them, but sadly no more.
Draws against Liverpool, Wigan and Spurs and a win over the Albion.
-
Mon 6 20:00 A Liverpool - Loss
Sat 11 15:00 H West Bromwich Albion - Win
Sat 18 15:00 A Wigan Athletic - Draw
Sun 26 17:30 H Tottenham Hotspur - Loss
Tue 28 15:00 A Manchester City - Loss
-
I've gone for 7 - 9, simply because anything less than 7 would set alarm bells clanging even more loudly.
We need to beat Albion and Wigan, after that I don't care where the other point/points come from. I can see us getting a draw at Anfield, possibly even one at Eastlands - it depends which Citeh team turns up. As it stands, at present I think Spurs will thump us.
-
I reckon we will get 7 points but hopefully more.
-
I've gone 7-9
Win against Baggies and Wigan
Then a point out the rest.
But I think our luck could dramatically change, if we get NRC and Heskey fighting fit.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if we lost every game - can't see where our next point is coming from.
-
7-9 we'll beat Albion, Liverpool & Wigan
Lose to City & Spurs (hope Im wrong about that)
-
Assuming we've got Gabby back I've gone for 8:
Liverpool - 1 point
Albion - 3 points - a must win game
Wigan - 3 points - who'd have thought a relegation place 6-pointer
Spurs - 1 point
Man City - 0

More concerned about the Olbiyun game, as that comes under the category of a game we should win so probably won't.
Nowt will be expected of us against Liverpool or Tottingham though so we'll probably do OK.
-
Win vs West Brom and Wigan
Lose vs Liverpool and Man City
Draw vs Spurs.
= 7.
Maybe less depending on postponements!
-
Cant see us winning any of those on current form. Houllier needs to start getting points on the board

Is the second part of your username "half empty"?
I do agree though, it will be hard to win any of those. I'll go for a win at Wigan and draws against WBA and Liverpool. So 5 points.
-
It isn't usually. Just the way I'm feeling right now.
-
West Brom, Wigan and Spurs are VERY big games.
I'm going for 7 points from our December fixtures.
-
Mon 6 20:00 A Liverpool LOSE
Sat 11 15:00 H West Bromwich Albion WIN
Sat 18 15:00 A Wigan Athletic WIN
Sun 26 17:30 H Tottenham Hotspur DRAW
Tue 28 15:00 A Manchester City LOSE

If we beat the shit on Wednesday, I'll say we'll get 10 or 11 points. We lost it could be more like 7 or 8. Morale and confidence will shape the next few weeks of our season.
-
My heart says 10-12 my head says 4-6, I think we will beat WBA get a draw against Wigan away and lose the rest , but I am in a negative place at the moment but 1 result can change all of that and I very much agree wtith Toronto Villa - Wed is huge game to take into December (either way)

5 wins, Houllier to get Manager of the Month award, and we will get around 12 goals. I think we have hit rock bottom, it's all uphill from here.
-
Interesting that everyone thinks Albion is 3 points given how they can play away and our totally disregard of tactics
I think 6 points

I'm a big believer in momentum and confidence in football - and we've had precious little of either lately. I'd be hoping for a reaction after Saturday (Arsenal's performance was a reaction to the Spurs loss and their defeat in Europe) so we need something similar. A draw and Anfield, which isn't that great a shock these days, plus winning the tie against the scum, and we'd build some confidence going into the WBA game and I'd then expect us to win. After that we'd be 'flying' and I'd fancy somnething at Wigan. Do that and we'd be much more capable of beating Spurs, although a draw is more likely. Take that run into the Man City game and we'd be expecting a point. And with a bit of luck one of those draws could easily be a win. However lose the next one and we'd be struggling for confidence and scrape a point here or there in these games. Basically, we need a morale boosting win and soon to get us going again.
We do have good players and we should pick up once the injured ones are back, but we're underperforming right now and that's for Gezza to put right.
7-9 is my optomistic prediction.

We can win all of these games, and I'm especially excited about going to Liverpool. It may be the only thing he knows about us, but Lawro has a point when he talks about our counter-attacking (Downing's probably the best player on the break in the league at the moment), and with them missing their key creatives and being on home soil, I can see them trying to attack us but not breaking us down and us getting them on the counter. How badly do I want to beat City though. Won't happen, but by god I want nothing more.
