He's still got it! One of the best in the business still. :)
Not the first time this season, nor indeed since he joined, that he's kept us in a game. He was fantastic last night. He might be approaching 40 fast, but he looks like he's got years in him.
-
Yes he's had some shit thrown his way in recent time's I think we've all been guilty.
He was excellent last night, that double save was wicked, Hopefully he won't have to do that sunday
-
He will play till 45 at this rate
-
He is still doing the business at his age unlike a certain legendary Danish goalkeeper.
I could see us playing him until summer 2012
-
He was excellent last night, and by far the best goalkeeper at the club.
-
I admit I thought he was past it. His recent performances however show that he is far from past it. Easily the man of the match last night, and that was judging by the radio.
-
Big Brad is still one of the best 'keepers around, even at 39 he's got fantastic athletic ability and very quick reactions... the best goalkeeper the Premier League has ever seen easily.
-
I've always thought he's been fantastic since he joined us.
-
.........all good, but we do need to be thinking of the future.
I am not one who thinks Brad 2 is going to fill Brad 1's boots.
-
After the Newcastle game I thought he was past it, whilst everyone was very poor he was barely in goal.
Immense last night though.
-
Not a fan of him generally but did well last night. Being very harsh, does anyone think he maybe should have got a hand to their goal?

I did, until I saw the replay. It was one of those where the lack of power meant the ball dipped just in front of brad's dive.
What do people think is Brad's best before date?
I reckon he can play next season if he wants to. On that note when does his contract run out?

I tend to think that with keepers you just play 'em until they drop and they go get another.
Keepers need games to progress, there's no point "grooming" a potential prem starter in the reserves/cups.
Villa's next starting keeper is probably not even on the club's radar yet, let alone already at the club.
I assume that Brad Sr specifically asked to start against his old team's arch enemies. Otherwise why was Jr playing in the cup game ?
-
;D Im sure ex Blackburn Rovers custodian Brad Freidel`s match winning performance to knock Burnley out of the cup was well appreciated by their fans on Wednesday. ;D
-
Brad was immense against Burnley but since he joined us he has been first class the best in my eye's i just hope when we replace him we find some one as goodas him.
-
I would def keep him at Villa as a coach..
-
Great thread.
I was so impressed by him in that match. Give him that new contract!
-
Well though Cuellar played against Burnley (and Clark for that matter), I thought Brad deserved Man of the Match. I don't think I've seen him play better.
-
Brad seems to be getting better and better. I think after next season it'll be time to get someone in.
-
thought he was pretty poor in his first season to be honest. I'm not a fan really, think his lack of presence in the box is an issue, makes a few Hollywood saves when catches are required but still a good shot stopper. His kicking has improved and he doesnt seem to be parrying out soft shots to opposing strikers as much as he used to earlier in his Villa career.
