Good side that.

Hopefully it's Lichaj on the left and Beye on the right. Would like to have seen us use tonight to bed Ireland in a bit more though.

GH seems to like Bannan, and I hope he seizes the opportunity. For Sidwell it's another chance, but you feel it's a last one.

Surely heskey should have replaced Carew? If it's ireland and young up front then we are going to have keep the crosses low and play ball to feet- interesting to see how this works out.

From BBC Sport:

"2009: Well I've seen some sitters missed this season - and this is right up there with the worst. Ashley Young dashes on to Stephen Ireland's through-ball and squares for Nigel Reo-Coker, but the Villa captain aims his tap-in straight at Burnley keeper Lee Grant who gratefully pushes the shot away."

Sadly finishing is not one of nige's strong points but he more than makes up for it with his workrate and industry- I would expect the fonz to come on at some stage in the 2nd half but it seems we are creating chances , just that age old lack of a quality goalscorer.

Why whisper? It's not a dirty word.

He played well on Saturday and has had several good games for us when he's had a run in the side.    When you are given 10 minutes at the end of the game, as O'Neill did for the last year, you don't have much to offer.

Delf was listed as being on the bench at the start of the thread. So I assumed he is fit.

And Heskey might have missed a sitter on Saturday but he didn't play against Chelsea and was off after the first 25 mins after setting one up against Spurs. As the first post was we had scored 1 goal in the last three games then surely that reason should be more because Carew is shite. So I'll meet you jogging then shall I.

A midfield with Bannan, Downing, Ash and Ireland will put a lot of pressure on Reo against Bowyer, Gardner and Ferguson. Sidwell can at least put himself about abit even if he is shit.

we shouldn't need to question who should play where. We should have a big enough squad to have players playing in their own positions. O'neil spent enough money.
