Not sure what time but it'll be worth a listen.
-
Such a boring station, I'm a big talksport fan, sorry to all you haters.
-
I hate Talkshite.
-
I also listen to TalkSport. Makes me chuckle. Anyway, thanks for the info Rexy.
-
I don't mind Talksport really. I like Collymore. Don't like Gough and Durham on Drive. They never agree on anything, how convenient.
-
Sorry for going off-topic, but Ronnie Irani does my head in.
-
Can't stand Ronnie Irani, or Drive time tbh.
Hawksbee and Jacobs is fantastic though, and if theres a better football analyst than Stewart Robson, then i have'nt heard him.Fantastic straight talking insight into players/tactics/management

I agree with all of that, Irani is a terrible 'broadcaster'. I do like Hawksbee and Jacobs, Jacobs can be a bit of a Chelsea twat though.
-
I also hate Irani, it should be a crime for such an idiot to be zoo successful.
-
He is due on very shortly.
-
On now - 20:15
-
I listen to both,R5 is a bit more quality,Talksport can be funny sometimes, its at its best when Danny Kelly is on,he should be on more.
-
Sticking the knife into Ellis.
-
Precis, please.
-
Darren Gough and Roni Irani dispelling the myth that all cricketers are intelligent!
Hawksbee and Jacobs make me laugh, clips of the week are hilarious
-
Gough isn't too bad. Irani is an imbecile. H&J are quality.
What did Sid have to say?
-
For all those Irani fans/haters!! http://petitions.tigweb.org/Irani

"47 have signed so far - help us get to 45."
?
-
Suprised its only 47 though, maybe theyve missed a few noughts.
-
Talksport is the broadcasting equivalent of flypaper.
Irani should be left there.
-
Precis, please.
Houllier is a good communicator who tells them precisely what to do in each training session.
Randy greatest achievement is to right the wrong Ellis perpetuated on the team of 80-82.
In Sid's day the players had a drink and Saunders turned a blind eye because they trained hard.
-
Sounds like the emphasis is on posession. Training very different and team discussion is all positive.
Pat Murphy interviewed him and the dig at Ellis was clearly set-up. Poor Doug...
-
Good interview.
The main emphasis in training was to retain the ball better and Sid hoped we (the fans) had seen little glimpses of this in the two games so far.
-
Sid basically taking about Houllier's methods:
- meeting every morning for the coaching staff - instructed to do something different every day, a lot new to the players but one of the main objectives is retaining possession - he used the phrase "total football"
- meeting with the players before they leave the hotel before each game, to discuss tactics etc (not earth shattering maybe, but the implications was that the tactics might differ according to opposition!)
Also talked a bit about 81/82, said it was great that the famous commentary was up on the North Stand and said that was clever of Lerner (although isn't that down to one of the regular posters on here?)
Said MON was also fantastic in that the first question he asked when he arrived was "where's the picture of the 82 EC winners?" Had a dig at Ellis for not allowing the same during his tenure at the club.
Favourable comment from the Monday night panel after the interview as well, including McGarry, the bellend (who was on shortly after MON resigned and basically said we were sunk without him, also started that totally bulls**t rumour about Friedel going to Fulham). Said Houllier's English was better than some English managers, that's why he had been able to hit the ground running.
-
Sounds great, the emphasis on possession is the big thing for me. We have some very good players and with the right additions and the right philosophy I think we can be very good side.
-
Wass? Tut-tut.
-
Don't you find it ironic that Heskey couldn't score in a piss up in a brewery when we were playing hoofball, and now we are starting to pass it about a bit more he has two in two.
-
Not ironic, no.
-
Anyone got a listen-again link to this please?

IPlayer Link. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tw6xq/5_live_Sport_The_Monday_Night_Club_27_09_2010/) About 1hr 15 mins in or so.

Gough isn't too bad. Irani is an imbecile. H&J are quality.
What did Sid have to say?
Irani is the stupidest person on radio by a long, long way.
-
Darren Gough is a feckin retard. Just how the hell is this simpleton making a living from the media?
-
I'm just wondering where they will put Flintoff when they hire him now he has retired from Cricket.
-

Might also have to do with him actually spending a bit of time in the penalty area as well, rather than playing little one-twos in the centre circle. The role of main striker seems to be suiting him, as he's got more responsibility than he had before.

Already we're seeing the benefits of the new coaching personnel, makes you wonder what routines they were doing under the previous regime.
-
Early days though, teams / players always do better when a new manager comes in. Hopefully we will still be singing his praises in 10 gamess time.

Like West Ham and Liverpool ? ;)

There were a few times when he did nice play towards the halfway line and I was screaming at the tv for him to "bust a gut" to get into the box. We had some crosses going in with no one to get on the end of them. Obviously it helped that he still had stamina to get in at for the header at the end which he might not have if expended earlier in the game but he wasn't in the box as much as we would have still liked.

Ye exactly Torres is about 1 in ten (good name for a song) ............
-
In Sid's day the players had a drink and Saunders turned a blind eye because they trained hard.
Sid also said that when Saunders occasionally put his arm round a player it was only to smell whether he'd been drinking
-
Maybe Sid and the coaching staff actually get the players to kick
that thing called a football during training - it's not a new philosophy
but it might just work ?!
-
Training previously consisted of running to the shops to get Robertson's fags.
-
Which football team does Darren Gough support this week?
-
I want to remember Gough as a fantastic lionhearted fast bowler for England. I dont really listen to talksport so it helps in that regard.
As for talking out of his anus at will, please try to remember he's from Yorkshire. ;)

Never listened to the Chris Moyles Show then?

Darren Gough is a feckin retard. Just how the hell is this simpleton making a living from the media?
Agreed, have you heard him when he has to read something like a competition? His English is woeful. Mind you I can't stand the egotistical smart arse that is Durham.
H&J are the best.
-
which ever one it is who supports Chelsea out of H+J is the biggest bellend on talksport,
winds me up no end, typical Chelsea fan, absolute tosser, would struggle not to give him a smack if i was in his presense for more tham 5 mins, condesending twat

I think Durham is only on there to wind people up and get people to phone in. Saying that he is still a tool. Years ago when it was Talk radio, they use to have
ex kids presenter Tommy Boyd on,I remember one show he came out and said, 'Do you know who i dont like? Geordies.' Within 5 minutes the phone lines were fall of Geordies ringing up to have a go,one bloke was nearly in tears!!

Thats Andy Jacobs,I think its quite funny as his opinions are so bitter after Chelsea lose, and Hawksbee winds him up.He seems quite harsh about most things,Hawksbee calls him Larry David.

Durham used to be really good when he did the European show on a Monday. Very knowledgable. Ever since they moved him to Drive Time and paired him up with pricks like Ian Wright and Gough, they've given him an agenda to be controversial, just to encourage white van drivers to phone in. I don't listen to it at all now, it's just annoying.
