On Saturday afternoon upon leaving the Holte End one of my travelling troop spent his pocketmoney on a packet of Villa Top Trumps.
I have since learnt that he and one of my own kids removed the James Milner card, borrowed a lighter off a gentleman in a local beer garden and proceeded to see if the once 'Awesome' Milner were fireproof.
For the record he was neither fireproof nor waterproof as his punishment did not finish with a burning :o
Question is - is the set of cards now somewhat lacking or somewhat improved?

That's rather petty.
Just as petty as when I removed the corner picture from September's Villa calendar. It was of a certain Mr C. Gardner.
I also seem to remember placing a picture of Dwight Yorke on the treble twenty section of my dartboard shortly after he left to join the Ministry for Propaganda. Unfortunately, due to me being shit at darts, he remained pretty much unscathed for years.

It is just as petty as my boycott of all things Bruce Springsteen during the latter days of John Gregory being our manager. Old Grecian always used to love talking about the Boss and I even seem to remember him performing a mini-set of Springsteen hits at the Jam House one night. I threw away my collection of CD’s and each time I’d hear one of his songs on the radio I’d switch channels.
It took me years to realise just how good he is again and what I had been forcing myself to miss out on.
Springsteen that is, not Gregory.

He was always banging about some dreadful soft rock band, can remember him thanking them once in his programme notes, can't remember what they were called. It was somebody like Magnum, whoever they were they were equally shit if it wasn't Magnum.

Now you mention it Chris, i think it was Thunder, not Magnum. There was many things about Gregory I did'nt like, but I imagine his CD collection was pretty good.

When I was at junior school in the early eighties the lads supported Villa or Blues exept for a couple of glory hunting Liverpool fans- and one lad who claimed to support the 1970's Chelsea side because he had Top Trumps of them. The only kid I ever met who rather than supporting a team supported a vintage version. I suppose us Villa fans could pick our own vintage to support but whatever era a Bluenose chose they would still be crap!

The Chief Executive is a massive Fall fan, and keeps slipping Fall song titles into his weekly "all staff" round up email.
