A group of us have decided to form an Ultras group at the Villa, basically this is an attempt to bring more noise and colour to Villa Park and away games. We are in no way shape or form interested in violence!
The group is composed of those... who bleed claret and blue and want to bring colour, vibrancy, noise and passion to the terraces. In the modern game where many a good supporter has been pushed away from the ground by high ticket prices and draconian policing while those who remain are often subject to over zealous stewarding we want to take something back for those who make the game what it is. We aim to follow in the tradition of ultra groups in Europe and learn from the example made by the handful of ultra groups who've been active in the UK over the past few years. The group is currently in it's embryonic stages and the next few months will be spent setting the foundations of the group, designing displays and making banners and flags.
Owing to the fact that those involved are based in various areas of Villa Park our first appearances this season are likely to be at away games.
We are anti-fascist, anti-racist and non-sectarian. Those who promote division based upon ethnicity, religion or nationality will not be tolerated in the group.
EDIT -MAC
Thanks for reading and if you have any questions i'd be happy to answer here or on our forum
Cheers!

Is there a dress code?
-
Is there a dress code?
yes strictly shellsuits and stilettos :D

I remember seeing this on Villatalk a couple of months ago and you got a bit of a mixed reaction, due mainly to the name Ultras been associated with violence, anyway I think its a good idea and am glad you've got it coming along nicely
-
Good luck, anything that adds to our songsheet or colour to Villa Park is positive in my view.
You planning on getting any of those banners made? Where will they be going?

Yes unfortunately the name Ultras is often misconstrued, there is no denying that throughout the world there are violent and right wing groups but there are also many non violent left wing groups in fact many groups have no political leanings!
Thanks for you comments.

If you join, are you still allowed to leave early in order to 'beat the traffic'?

Yes we're still finalising a group logo then we will be creating banners, this season banners etc will mainly be seen at away games then hopefully next season our group will be able to relocate into the same section which is so far undecided.

Or watch the Rugby World Cup Final?
-
The Italians used to look to us for tips on how to support their teams and add atmosphere to their games. Most Italian games I've seen recently seem to involve an attendence the Blues would sneer at followed by nipping outside to attempt to murder the local coppers.
Still, good luck with it.
-
Good luck mate, get some of the 'away' level of vocal support going.
I've pm'd you re. spelling ;-)
-
Not my place to say-but why don't you just drop the last bit and call yourself Brigada 1874. You don't even need the Villa bit.
Good luck anyway and enjoy the season ahead.

We look to support the team for the whole game no matter what the score.

I'm ahead of the game with this one, me and my mates have been choreagraphing nipping down for a pint five minutes before half time.
-
Will you base yourselves on the Curva Nord Stand?
-
I don't know, "Ultras" is an Italian term (I think), what's it got to do with us? I bet they don't go drinking bovril and taking the piss out of Heskey at Fiorentina matches. We are Aston Villa, the most important team in World history. We don't need to copy anybody else.
-
I'll happily donate my Vespa for the home game with blues......
-
I bet they don't go taking the piss out of Heskey
thats a worldwide game and not just one enjoyed in Birmingham
-
What's the first rule of Brigada 1874?
-
A Worldwide game that we invented the first ever league in. Sod Italy. We don't need to copy anybody else. I don't want to end up a bunch of drum-wielding saddos like Bolton or Sheffield Wednesday.

Bed by 9?
-
Noise: I hope your Akela won't have a megaphone. Most annoying.
As for next season's location, there's about 400 seats that always appear empty in the Upper Trinity Road.
-
Isn't that the Directors' Box?
-
They are kids wanting to enjoy themselves, it might all be bit contrived and 'Reclaim the Kop' for us miserable old buggers but there doesn't seem to be any harm in it. They will soon get bored and will revert to turning up pissed five minutes after the game starts and moaning about Cuellar, thats the traditional way of things.
-
Fair point, I will try to be less miserable.
-
Good, and dont forget your C&B jesters hat this afternoon.
-
It's in the wash.
-
those who remain are often subject to over zealous stewarding
So, you want to stand up?
Didn't you post this a few weeks ago? If you want to launch anything on this message board I suggest you introduce yourselves first. It's a bit of a cheek otherwise, especially when your board is members only. Hiding behind a username doesn't foster anything other than suspicion.
