I seem to remember an announcement that it was being discontinued - I don't think it was published last season either?

It was simply a rehash of old stuff from the programme anyway, as far as I could see.

I don't think it's being printed any more but isn't it available online?

I was in the shop last week & they have a table full of back issues of Claret &Blue, & loads of old programmes, & I mean old, Ian Olney was on the front of one. I think they,re priced @20p ea.
Someone must have been clearing a cupboard ready for the new kits arrival......

The magazine was awful, I always half expected to see the old classic in the mind numbingly dull player Q and A's - FAVOURITE FOOD - STEAK AND CHIPS

Was it Shoot! that used to ask who they voted for, or The Villa times?
Either way, it was always 99% Tory.

I think I've still got the issue of Claret and Blue from 1994 where me and my then girlfriend were pictured at the Deportivo game, where we lost 1-0.

Spot on, Chico! Although there was a question - possibly what is worst thing about being a professional footballer - of which the answer was always injuries.

Married:  Yes, to Barbara

Children:  Gary, 5; Sharon, 3 and 2-month old Wayne

Car: Capri Ghia

Favourite singer: Peters and Lee

To be fair, Shoot! at the time would as readily ask the question of Orient's "midfield schemer" as they would of a top international like, er, Mike England.

I also knew aged 8 what "miscellaneous" meant.  I doubt if any of the 8-year olds I teach do.

Wasn't "favourite singer" nearly always Phil Collins?

Last copy of Claret & Blue I saw was about 20 pages and half of those were adverts.

There was a good (slightly risque) one from Paul Merson in the match programme when asked his favourite out of The Spice Girls or AllSaints:  "Allsaints...all day."
