We lost the match 1-0 but i love watching watching footage from the 70s and 80s. Anyone remember going to this match?

I was at the match but can't remember anything particular about it. In those days we used to try to get a seat in the old Lowfield Road Stand as it was very dodgy behind the goal. There was usually a rumpus if you had to go back down the hill to the coach park and getting back to the Station was no better. Quite often we would park the car by the Peacock and then head up the road behind it where there was a club. They always did a superb oxtail soup in that ground, boiled up in a saucepan not in a prepacked cup.

I love watching stuff from the seventies and eighties too. Shame ESPN stopped showing the Gary Imlach shows and started showing more so-called premier league classics. Men and Motors have stopped showing The Big Match Revisited too. I saw Villa4 Albion3 from 1983 a couple of months back, a bit of a forgotten gem. I didn't go to Leeds till we beat them in the league and cup in '87-88 though.

I also love watching old matches of the Villa it is nice to see the ones you have never seen before.

Just out of interest has anyone watch the Big Match Villa DVD??
-
Yeah - I've got it. Well worth buying.

Seeing Brian Flynn celebrating their goal with Paul Hart sent me racing to Wikipedia to check out Flynn's height. 5' 3½. Barry Bannan is a giant in comparison, at least in terms of height.
A lovely ball from Sid dinked in for he who walks on water. Nice clip despite the result.

lovely cross from Sid and Brian Little caught it nicely but the keeper picked it out of the air like an apple!
