I mentioned on another thread that Curbishley's brother used to be the manager of The Who.
That was just the tip of the iceberg.
Look at this for a CV - The Who, Marc Bolan, Page and Plant, Thunderclap Newman, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown........UB40...
And to think that dour Alan is the more famous of the 2 brothers..

That's right Chico mate, I remember Pete Townsend even mentioning it on stage once, I think it was at the NEC, that Alan Curbishley was a 'very good footballer from Birminum' ! I obviously disagreed loudly !
-
Is his name Bill? I think I may have been at that gig.
-
Yeh, his names Bill. I remember him organising a big gig at The Valley with The Who in the seventies. At would appear that Pete Townsend never saw Alan play then!
-
If you go to thewho.com site, & follow the link to info on The Who Convention, there is video of Roger Daltrey turning up at a previous convention , getting on stage & telling the audience that he,d just popped in after watching the Arse, beat us 5-0, (2005-6 O,Leary??)

Wasn't that gig in the Guiness Book of Records as loudest one ever (at the time... May have been beaten)?

Yes I was there at The Valley, Moony gamboled onto the stage, which was soaked after a thunderstorm to play probably the most explosive gig I ever saw, quite literally! It was a great day, drinks and smokes in the pub round the corner and watching The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Streetwalkers, Little Feat soaked to the skin after a sunny day late in May 1976.
Pete Townsend knew fuck all about football then and now.
Happy days.

Pete Townsend knew fuck all about football then and now.
He's pretty knowledgeable on Swiss football, he follows Young Boys.

Only for research though.

Curbishley's brother says Curbishley's busy, too busy to come to the phone
Curbishley's brother says Curbishley's trying, to start a new life of his own
Curbishley's brother says Curbishley's happy, so why don't you leave him alone
And the operator says Forty cents more, for the next three minutes

When is that book coming out?

I bet nobody in Houllier's family ever worked with Thunderclap Newman. We've been stitched up something rotten.
