Title: Who's going to step up their game then?
Post by: Comrade Blitz on September 01, 2010, 04:10:41 PM
This club desperately needs someone to "be the ball".

Who's it going to be?

Well, some people do reckon Dunne's put a few pounds on over the summer....

Can't they afford a ball now?  Not even a windy miller?

Just as long as someone is going to be a "goalscorer"

There are a few squad players who,  having made their opinions known,  now need to walk the walk and i think Gabby's best is yet to come , so about now would be nice

Since it looks like he's been given a second chance, I'd expect Reo-Coker to be eager to prove MON was wrong about him - the same for the rest of the squad who did not hold back their joy that he had gone (Bannan et al.)

One of the key things we have to ask though is whether Heskey can still be motivated. Does he feel he has anything to prove now that he's retired from int'l football AND has hung on to his place in the squad yet again.

He could start by proving that he is a professional footballer

Retiring from international football hasn't harmed other players, Paul Scholes etc.  Most players say this extends their careers at the top.
