3 0 defeat. Tim Cahill hat trick. Another missed penalty, Ashley Young doing his own thing and arguing with the officials all match. Petrov looking slow and unfit both as a player and captain. Friedel too slow to see a moving ball. Carew lifeless up front to be replaced by the tumbling inept Heskey. Oh and cuellar at fukin right back again.

Crap team selection, 0-20 result.  Penalty miss by whoever is the most inept penalty taker for us is.

I'll post a more serious prediction later.

Considering what's been going on in the last few days, a draw will actually seem like a pretty decent result. I doubt there's not too many Villa fans expecting too much on Sunday so if we win, I think everyone will go mad and party like it's 1999.

Everton will do us and if they score early enough, it will be a right tattering. 3-0 to the Bluedippers.

Then we have two weeks to sort ourselves out with a quality manager and then Bobs your uncle and August is your March.

Friedel, Dunne and Warnock should be back so hopefully we'll be a bit more solid (!) and able to deal with some of the aerial stuff. Up front i'd like to see the Fonz and Gabby although if he's interested for this match its the sort of game John Carew would be ideal for.

1-1 and lots of teeth gnashing from the Holte.

A 0-1 defeat will almost be like a 3-0 win now.

We will defend (yes, DEFEND) industriously for 80 minutes only to lose to a Cafuckinghill's goal in the 81st min.

I bet Cahill & co are licking their lips at the prospect of giving us a good thrashing, ifthey score first i foresee a deluge 0-4,
if The Boyz score first we might manage to hold em to adraw but i seriously doubt it,1-2---- Albrighton apart there,s no heart,no pride, no passion,no commitment, last night i asked myself do some of these clowns actually want to wear the Claret &Blue
of our great club??------cant wait to see which bozo is going to entertain us &  miss the next penalty, might as well give it to Friedel,
very very disillusioned---but always Villa Till I Die.

Even in the last 2 games, you can still see we have some talent. But I fear the worst for this one. We have to get back to basics in defence, especially from set pieces. I would play:

Friedan - cuellar, Collins, dinner, warnock - petrov, NRC - young, Ireland, downing - gabby

It's going to get worse before it gets better. A spanking and more soul searching. We will come come good though, you can see that there is so much potential in this squad. Ireland looks like a player that will do damage when he settles in more.

Those old feelings of not looking forward to going to Villa Park are returning.

We'll start brightly, take the lead , they'll equalise from a headed set piece (Probably Felaini who will be bought back specificially for us) and then Cahill will notch a winner in a similar vein 5 minutes from the end and do his stupid fuckin boxing corner flag trick.

3-1 Everton.

We lose two early goals to Cahill and Saha, we then have the best of the next hour, Young scores with half an hour to go and Beckford's Injury comes on to score within five minutes.

We then give up and we both play out a boring last twenty minutes.

As shit as we have been in the last week and inevitable looks likely, it's worth noting that Everton lost away at Blackburn and drew, at home, with Wolves. There are some positives. Not many, and I'm scraping the barrell, but there are.

I also think we have created some very good chances in all of our games so far, and it's likely that we'll score at least one.

2-1 win to us. Pick our best players in their best positions and we are a bloody good team and more than a match for Everton. I expect Dunne and Cuellar to start in defence and to be rock solid. I hope to god that Kev doesn't think that he should be playing 3 CBs to counter the aerial challenge of the shortest man on the pitch.

Somehow between now and Sunday the players need to relax, get positive and play their part in making things work.

If we cut out the pathetic mistakes and play players in their correct positions then 2-1 to us, like to see us play a 4-2-3-1 system, friedel in goal, a back 4 of young, cuellar, dunne and warnock, petrov and reo-coker holding with young, downing and ireland playing off gabby

0-2

Cahill 7
Beckford 85

We'll play terrible first half and be lucky to go in just 1 down at half time. Play well in the second half and just as we think were on the verge of scoring they'll get a second

Stan and NRC central, with Ireland behind Gabby and Downing and Ash on the flanks would make us nice and solid. Carlos central alongside tubby Dunney with a tuned in Warnock and Luke and we have a chance.

The make shift defences we’ve been throwing out, with unfit players and others out of position has coincided with us shipping ten in three. We need stability along the back four and hopefully NRC and Stan central will offer a bit more of a shield to them. He cannot play Ireland central. The boy can tackle, but its a waste having him going the other way when he’s got such ability going forwards.

Thats the line up I would go for Ads. Although its more the management and during game instructions that worry me. Oh, and consequently Evertons desire. I really hope the players can find that bottle that has been missing from the last 180 minutes. I will go 1-1, and sadly be pleased with that right now.

0-3 Beckford hat-trick after coming on as a second half sub before which we looked good.

Coopers Injury to spontaneously combust in his seat in the  Upper Trinity.

Unlikely as that's mean he'd have gone to the game.

1-1 with Cahill getting a late equaliser.

My only problem with that would be Albrighton, a tough game like Everton after all the games he's played recently might be asking too much of a young player like him. Besides, Downing might offer us a different dimension cutting in with his left foot. Other than that little issue, that has to be the only team we can put out.

I am saying  that I think we will lose today, and that doing so will more than likely put paid to any hopes Kevin Macdonald has of being Villa manager.  Which in the long run would prove to be a good thing as he is bloody useless and if winning today means he will get the job then God hep us if we do.  It's that simple.

Horrible thing is, I don't think he's even playing him there. I think it's a 4-1-4-1 with Petrov as sole holding player. It's a team which doesn't take into account the fact that we will, at some point, not have the ball. Because he will have Ireland and Petrov in the middle like he did last week with Ash in front of them and MA and SD on the wings.  Then, SI will be the deeper of the two (again, like last week) thus him being the holding midfielder.  Which by the way should result in Everton's super strong 5 man midfield ripping us apart (like last week).

Quote from: bbc reporter
1518: ASTON VILLA v EVERTON:
Chris Whyatt reports: "If Villa and Everton were grubby school kids, they'd be good pals. Both hang around the most popular gang in class - but are never quite in it - and each is worryingly below-par right now. David Moyes may be less concerned as his Everton are never bad for long, though defeat in this most-played top-flight fixture would mean their worst start for over a decade. Villa's caretaker boss Kevin McDonald is desperate for new boy Stephen Ireland to shine."

Talk about a lightweight midfield! We'll get slaughtered! Ireland is not being played in
the right position and Downing is a fanny. Stan's never really been a defensive mid either, and
his legs aren't what they used to be. Cahill, Rodwell and Fellaini will batter us senseless.

We're going to get spanked I'm afraid lads. Another incredibly naive selection from Kmac. I

I feel we're definitely going to need to score first. If we can get to a situation where we can afford men behind the ball, then we might just control the game. However, if they score first then we're in trouble, because they'll paste us on the counter.

Honestly though. Outside of maybe NRC for Downing what other side would you have picked? We're not playing 4-4-2 which would have been to open, so instead we're playing with 5 in midfield at home. I expect to see Ireland and Young either side of Carew when attacking and dropping into central midfield when defending. Both work very hard and it's not like Cahill/Arteta are bullies in their midfield. We have to attack, and we'll win if we are positive.

On Sky's build up, could be hamstring.   Well ain't that just great, our one and only summer signing out for a possible lenghty period.

If Ireland's out it's a shame but not a disaster. He's looked off the pace and will take time to settle. Young, Downing and Albrighton are good creative attackers, and Petrov can dictate possession well from deep given the chance. The important thing now is that NRC is in there to try and counter them. A more recognisable 4-2-3-1 now seems likely.

Blessing in disguise really. Though I'd rather Downing injured himself, losing a fight with a blade of grass.

Would like to have seen Ireland playing, but for the good of the team, we need some solidity and bite in midfield, or we'll get mullered. Even still, Nige on his own won't be enough. I'd have played Collins as an anchorman to be honest, with Nige and Ireland/Petrov ahead (or Petrov in this case).

Petrov and Ireland haven't worked so far. It could be a slight blessing in disguise. Shame it was Ireland and not petrov who's limped out. Think NRC will do a better role in defensive midfield rather than Peteov. He's got to play further up now and be more of a play maker. Come on sideways stan! Get your arse into gear and have the game of your villa career!

I think Petrov and Nige is a decent, textbook deep midfield two. You've got your snapper and runner in NRC and your sweeper and deep playmaker in Petrov. In an ideal world NRC would have less tactical stupidity and the ability to pass, but hey.
