Title: Ashley Young's latest admirer
Post by: Dave on August 15, 2010, 10:55:11 AM
The People (http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2010/08/14/lionel-messi-tweets-on-ashley-young-s-blinding-performance-against-hammers-102039-22488085/)

Quote
ASHLEY YOUNG is Lionel Messi’s new tweet heart!

Messi watched on cable TV as Young played brilliantly in Aston Villa’s 3-0 win over West Ham.

The Barca ace wrote on his official Twitter page: “The Villa vs. West Ham match is really exciting – Ashley Young is having a blinder.”

Martin O’Neill, who once claimed the flying Villa winger was in the same class as mercurial Messi, quit as Villa boss earlier this week.

And life under caretaker Kevin MacDonald started in style as Young ran the show, setting up the second for Stiliyan Petrov. Goals from Stewart Downing and Man City-bound James Milner completed the rout.

Está siendo apasionante el Aston Villa - West Ham. Ashley Young está haciendo un partidazo.

Well, I don't want to start a whole other argument, but if Ash was going to end up anywhere I'd rather it was Barca.

So can we pursuade Messi to come to a real footballing side?

He'd have to watch from the bench to start but he'd be a good option when Ash or Albrighton are tiring.

I can't imagine Messi coming out with the phrase 'having a blinder'.

I don't want to shit on VS's parade but why does the actual Spanish text say Aston Villa if the English translation is supposed to say The Villa?

Everyone knows that the Spanish for "The" is Aston.

In italian you use the definite article with all team names. I imagine Spanish is the same.

I think Young is one of the few members of our squad who genuinely could play for Barcelona.

Perhaps Milner but I doubt anyone else would fit in.

What an odd thing to say.
I can't imagine there is many teams that have more than a couple of players who would get into the current barcelona team?

Milner would get in that team playing like he does
all action, great willingness to track back ,cover and then burst forward.he's pure class

no wonder manc citie want him for their bloated midfield :(

;D  It wouldn't be some weirdo who thinks he's Lionel Messi by any chance would it. Really can't see Lionel saying having a blinder.

Sorry, just my random thoughts being projected into text as always.

Just got me thinking about who in our side could get into their side.

What an odd thing to say.

It's funny, because Albrighton has been reminding me seriously of Pedro. Not quite as good, obviously, but I'd say as much talent.
