Title: Wolves vs Villa 1989-90
Post by: Deano's Mullet on August 11, 2010, 09:46:58 PM

The second leg. We'd won the first one 2-1 at home with goals from Platt and Stuart Gray. Derek Mountfield was such a prolific goalscorer for a central defender, i am sure he got 7-8 goals that season but several in his other campaigns at the club.

Mainly remember Spinksy twatting Stayvie Bull. Out of character but funny! Good find, Deano.

The fences look really old-fashioned now.

God fell badly, too.

MoN would have loved the perfunctory goal celebration!

What was weird about that was that a) when Mountfield scored, it sounded like we had more fans in the ground than they did, and b) when we were chanting 'Villa, Villa' etc, it sounded a lot deeper than it does now. Too many women and kids, eh?
