I can't bring myself to hate them.
Oh hang on, yes I can!

Depending on how the Milner deals goes, it may be a case of 'he who laughs last, laughs best' when he doesn't live up to the fee paid.
-
I couldnt give a flying Fcuk what they think. Tossers
-
The only thing I've learnt from that is that it isn't just thick Brummies who write "of" when they mean "have" (would of, could of, etc.) but thick Mancs do it as well.
-
A bit of respect shown there I think
-
That's not really that bad.
-
One of them says they have no sympathy for Villa fans.
Well that's alright because when Man City have spunked half a trillion on players, they've still not won anything and the owners get bored and bugger off back to where they came from leaving them with a wage bill that would make the combined national debt for Latin America look modest I won't have any sympathy for them either.
-
^^ Is the correct response.
-
Well said, sir.
-
I am another who culd not give a dam what they think they can stick there opinion and there blue moon were the sun dont shine.
-
When they start winning things regularly after all the money they keep spending then people might start taking them a bit more seriously. Until then I will continue to treat them like the knuckledragging Oasis loving dickheads they are.
-
Jesus Christ the author of that post got crucified he obviously doesn't speak for the majority of those northern fuckwits.
-
I appreciate the sentiment but the OP was pissing in the wind.
As for the Barry/tenners thing, grow up. What did they expect we were going to do? Boo for three minutes like we did at the Bescot and then forget about it?
-
They seem to have adopted all the least attractive traits of Man United supporters, without the trophies or success to back up their arrogance.
Shame, they used to be a decent lot of supporters. I hope the majority of them don't end up turning into wankers.
-
I love the badge with the made up CL stars.........classy.

they remind me of that Norfolk chav who suddenly won the lottery
having said that we'd probably be the same in there position all rational thought goes out the window with so much money
-
Yup because I'm sure they were all chuffed when SWP bugged of to Chelsea for the cash ...
-
I've added my own unique brand of H&V style analysis to that thread over there. Not showing yet as it has to be "approved" first.
-
who gives a fuck what they think?

This from "McGregor1874" got the respect of a couple of City fans thus far.
To be honest I have not met one Villa fan who thinks this is Man City's fault. Not one. To think along those lines smacks of paranoia. Man City does not even come into the fall out between O'Neill and Lerner. I've a lot of time for City and have a few family members from Moss Side and I was made up for them when the club was taken over by big money...after all the years of being a piss poor runt of a football club it's the very least their loyalty deserved.
The most striking thing about this thread is how on earth the OP could state that Martin O'Neill is English! If that's the level of insight we have on Bluemoon these days then how on earth can Man City supporters be taken seriously in debates? Embarrassing.
Onto football matters. It'll be an interesting season ahead, but as always I'll put my money on the club that created this magnificent competition back in 1888 to come out fighting. We've seen plenty of comings and goings at Villa Park on our way to plenty of successes and failures over the years. Even in this era of financial doping that has seen the likes of Blackburn, Chelsea and others rise to the top I'm pretty sure Villa will - as always - be the greater bet for the long term. O'Neill goes (he did a fine job) but we don't stand still. We move on and we progress.
It got one "Class", one "Stands and applauds" and one dickhead asking "Who do you support, mate? And if you say your a football fan and don't know O'neill is a proud scot and glaswegian then you arent really a fan in my eyes."
-
It sounds like an issue that goes beyond Milner. According to the Telegraph, Villa's season ticket sales were down 40%. That's after spending a net of 80+ million over the last 4 years, not to mention the manager and owner not seeing eye-to-eye on things.
Milner might have only been a contributing factor to a larger issue between owner and manager.
This is a) concerning ( 40%) and b) not a bad assumption.
-
they're right about looking like a bunch of small-time pricks waving those £10 notes at barry though.

I thought that (the waving of tenners) was an eloquent shorthand way of saying "you only gone for the money you fat arsed twat"
-

Absolutely agree.
That said I've always been told it was 'he who laughs last, laughs longest'.

Man City: The team that has 3 stars on their badge and then claim it's for decoration. Oh dear, that's probably more embarrassing than that bluenose getting his tattoo the wrong way around.
Man City will forever be known as ''that other team from Manchester"... they just happen to be loaded that's the only reason why they're any significance to the footballing world. I could care less what Man City fans think (probably because most of them supported United before it was 'cool' to be a Man City fan recently), as long they waste more money i.e. signing Milner and giving us Ireland in return.
-
they remind me of that Norfolk chav who suddenly won the lottery
very good and spot on. :D
-
In between the usual bollocks any set off fans use about another club there's some decent stuff on there and a lot of mutual respect between supporters with a lot in common.
-
one dickhead asking "Who do you support, mate? And if you say your a football fan and don't know O'neill is a proud scot and glaswegian then you arent really a fan in my eyes."
Got to admit I thought that was quite funny.
-
After hearing the MoN to Newcastle rumour, I had a look-see on one of their forums. Once your eyes stop bleeding from the huge emoticons and massive avitars (they're clearly compensating for something), I realised, after only one season, that I'd actually forgotten what a deluded bunch of fuck-knuckles they are.
-
And that Garry Cook is one fuck knuckle
-
All clubs have pricks. Look at SHA they have a 99% ratio of confirmed "pricks" .................. PS got 99 cause my mates one of them Haaaaaaaa
-
Have to say lads and lasses, that there maybe a few decent posters on bluemoon, the majority are kids with no brains or chavs with too much time on their hands. To say you feel sorry for another set of fans is very patronising imo. So my special message to Villa is dont read bluemoon, choose mancityfans.net instead, far more intelligent a person contribute on that forum.
Cheers

Probably. If you're going Saturday pass on my regards to Dave Wallace. He'll empathise.
-
Used to be quite pally with Dave, till he started a fanzine war with one of my best mates Noel Bayley (Bert trautmans helmet). Then when city made him "fan on the board" he became quite unbearable. Would never question his love for city though.

The bile reserved for Aston Villa and Man City on that site is quite something.

Villa Talk is the worst Aston Villa forum. From reading posts on that forum most posters either seems to be boring, miserable, negative, likes to think they know it all, angry and just in general people you wouldn't really want to talk to in real life let alone on the internet.
Even small heath don't have a set of fans that bad.
-
Why Everton always have such a problem with us is beyond me.
-
They're probably still hurting and hating after Ashley Young embarrassed them.

Oh I don't know - Villatalk is bad enough, but VitalVilla is an absolute abomination.

Bigger fools them. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met, but I suppose jealousy takes many forms.
-
Dont get me wrong Dave, he loves City with a passion and I know him reasonably well, but back in the day when the fanzines started he kinda pissed on a good mate of mine (noel bayley- burt trautmans helmet). He was also the so called fan on the board and decided to speak for us all without actually consulting anybody.
He is still there though and credit where credit is due.
On a sidenote if you remember Louise mmmmmmm in comparison to Noels girls

Loads of fanzines were started by people who had written for others; that was the way it went. And nobody could top Bill Burrows for shitting on others. In that fan on the board thing Dave got stick from every side but he did what he thought was right. He always has, and that's why I respect him.

to be fair dave, maybe you are right in what you are saying but we were asked our opinions by him of which we duly gave him, he would agree but then follow the club line which pissed a lot of us off. The club line at the time was nonsense, but he got swallowed up by them. I know he is a decent fella, just didnt do what he said he would.
As it happens, what or how terrible was it like being the fan on the board?

I don't know what happened up there for sure, but I know Frannie Lee's attitude was that Dave was there to do what the board told him to do, and ultimately he was only one man, without a vote. It's very difficult to argue against those sort of odds, especially when he was regularly being asked to leave the room when 'important' things were being discussed.

He was always going to be asked to leave the room though when decisions were going to be made, just an opinion but he should have walked out himself first time up. I dont blame him for hanging on in there, but it didn't go down very well with people he trusted at the time and some people thought he was only thinking of himself, but hey Dave it was a long time ago and there isnt a problem anymore.
Lets talk on another thread Dave, you seem a great lad and have welcomed me on your board of which I am greatful for
cheers

Okay - final word. When Doug was here we had the best secretary in the country, Steve Stride. He got called all sorts by people who said he should resign if he disagreed with what Doug did. And as he said, "Then who would you have on your side?"
-
Why Everton always have such a problem with us is beyond me.
Jealous of Randy, because with 80 million net, they'd probably have gone close to winning the title under Moyes.
-
Why Everton always have such a problem with us is beyond me.
I've said this before.
For all the bonhomie and respect a fair few Villa fans have for Everton as a club, it isn't reciprocated. They genuinely seem to hate us, particularly in recent seasons.
It could be just jealousy/ concern that we came into a degree of wealth and they looked the most likely to fall by the wayside, as we became 'best of the rest.' But we're not exactly upstarts, new to this Europe/ top 6 area of the table.
Maybe it's all the years of being in the shadows of their more illustrious neighbours, the SHA effect. They do seem to possess similar traits, often coming across as really bitter and warped.
-
We've also more often than not beat Everton up at Goodison for the past 20 years, while recently we've been in the habit of scoring within seconds of them.
-
Everton supporters look down on every other club. They've got a self-appointed moral superiority that you don't find anywhere else.
-
I've always looked at Everton, Tottenham, Citeh and ourselves as similar.
Tottenham probably being the most smug of the bunch (even before) but a lot of them generally quite knowledgeable as fans of underperforming big sides. The gallows humour, the (somewhat unrealistic) expectations of a return to glory days. The whole nine yards.
With Everton I always felt it was a more recent thing, this vitriol. But maybe I was wrong.
