Post by: Rip Van We Go Again on July 28, 2010, 05:44:15 PM
We don't want the media or rival supporters coming on here and seeing negative comments about Emule.
So please, for the sake of our wage bill, let's have some positivity about him.......
I'll kick off by saying that he's as strong as an ox, nippy, stays on his feet well and as an eye for the onion bag..

He just hasn't been played to his strengths at Villa. In the right team, he'd be an asset and worth every penny of his wages.

Massively under-rated player. I worry about him going to Sunderland as him and Bent would go together like, ooooh, fish and chips if you like.

I'd like to dispel this myth that he doesn't score goals. to date, Emile Heskey has scored 515 goals in 533 club games for Kispest, Honved and Real Madrid, as well as an international return of 84 in 85 for his national . . . no, sorry, that's Puskas.

The way he breaks his fall as he hits the ground is pure class. It's an ability that can't be taught, it has to be gained by experience. I think whoever he goes to will be getting a player who will be out of action due to injury far less often than he should be.

For someone so shit he's played more or less his whole career in the top flight.
If he could score 10 more goals a season he would be classed as World Class.

Emile Heskey has been playing in the Premier League since the 1996/97 season, 14 consecutive years at the highest level for this colossus of a player.
At Leicester he finished 9th, 10th, 10th & 8th in the PL in the seasons that he was there, which was the highest level ever attained by that club. He then moved to Liverpool, where he was in a side that finished outside the top 4 only once in 5 seasons.
In recent seasons he has been an important fixture in Martin O’Neill’s Aston Villa squad, where he has helped the team achieve consecutive top 6 finishes and 2 Wembley appearances, after a 10 year gap.
Emile is a winner pure and simple and has a trophy haul that includes 6 domestic cup triumphs, 2 runners-up places and 2 European competition winners’ medals.
All of this whilst picking up over 60 caps for England, most recently with the support and tutelage of one of the world’s most respected coaches.
Having recently announced his retirement from international football, Emile can be expected to provide many years of ongoing top-of-range experience to any side lucky enough to have him.

Brilliant stuff. If someone knocks up a brochure like the Owen one that should be the introduction.
It reinforces my belief that Martin will be making a mistake if he sells Heskey. Or maybe we just never could take advantage of a player so skillful and as such it is only fair that we allow another club to take advantage of this. I'll miss him more than Luke Young and Milner combined.

He creates space
He hasn't a bad first touch
His middle name is Ivanhoe
He once gave £100k in an attempt to save his boyhood club Leicester*
(*Admittedly depends on your view of Leicester and OK he can afford it but at least he's not forgotten his roots)

From The Fount of all Knowledge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emile_Heskey)
Quote
Heskey was the partner of Kylee Pinsent but he left her in 2004 and is now engaged to Chantelle Tagoe.[128] He started seeing Tagoe secretly in 2002, who worked part-time as a waitress at a lap-dancing bar in Liverpool, while still in a relationship with Pinsent.[129] Following the revelation of his two-year affair with Tagoe, Pinsent broke up with Heskey.[130] He is the father of five children, three of them with former partner Pinsent and two with Tagoe.[131] His fiancée Tagoe was held at knifepoint at their home in Hale, Greater Manchester in July 2008, while he was at a training session.[132] The thieves burgled the house and stole Heskey's BMW but neither Tagoe, nor their two children who were in the house, were hurt.[132] Following this, he said Tagoe was "very, very distressed" by the incident.[133] In 2009, he was rated as owning a personal fortune of £12 million.[134] Heskey and other members of the England team supported the Shoe Aid for Africa campaign in 2009, which was aimed at helping underprivileged children in Africa.[135]

If it's been dismissed now can we call him the useless c**t he actually is now?
Remind me, which one out of you and Emile scored a goal for Villa against Feyenoord tonight?
That doesn't really matter, though does it.
How so?
Well, for example, you and I have never played a minute of Premier League football (I'm assuming you haven't, but I haven't) but it isn't going to stop us calling whichever player we don't rate shit, is it?
If Heskey is going to stay with us, I dearly hope he absolutely makes me (and all the others) choke on my criticism of him. He might, he might not, but I don't think a goal in a pre-season friendly is much indication of the way things are going to go.

No I don't either but if you're going to call a player shit or a useless c**t on a night he scores for the Villa against Feyenoord then you're on a hiding to nothing with me. Not unless you've got something very special about yourself.

Do you ever lighten up and stop taking everything so incredibly seriously?
You should.
Pour a scotch or something. I would. If I had any. It's the dregs of a three week old wine box for me, but even that helps.

I have some advocaat and some pimms in the cupboard (you can see how I like to party at home) and some mixers and ice, I'll try some of that.
I don't mean to be so uptight but "useless ******"? A Villa player? A Villa player that scored tonight against Feyenoord? It got my goat.
I'll go and mix myself something chillin'

I like Advocaat, but - weirdly - only at Christmas. It also goes down far too fast.
It's just a pre-season friendly. Like Bohemians and Basingstoke. It's no biggie.
Mind you, reading the match thread tonight, I'm dreading to think what the actual season will be like.

Advocaat?
Not for me.
MoN really got the better of him when he was at Rangers.
