So if you did renew, might I ask why?
-
Went for 1, but even if that wasn't the case I would've done it for 2 or 3 anyway!
-
I will always renew tell I can no longer attend games
-
I love the Villa, I enjoy watching live football, had it spare because I'd put the money aside last season.
Had to think about it this year though, 'cos I'm at Uni and I like having my weekends free and can't really afford the £15ish quid back on the train all the time. I went to 17 of 19 home league games last year (hadn't missed one since 2003 before then), I imagine that figure will be closer to 15 this season.
-
Blind faith sums it up!
-
Went for the It's about the day out as much as the football.
-
I went for blind faith but I take my son(s) now to teach them the same blind faith I have !

We are a miserable bunch of fans aren't we. Bloody brummies. 6th best team in the most exciting league in the world, home grown players, great owners, nice stadium. In a position that everyone else below 8th would gladly want to be in.
Undoubtedly we'll spend stacks of money again at some point before the window closes. Undoubtedly no team North of London or South of Manc will get anywhere near us and the ground will be 95% full for the league games. Not only is the city ours vast swathes of this country are as well. Wembley twice last season, world cup players in the squad, ticket prices are cheap in comparison to everywhere else so unless personal circumstances dictate why wouldn't everyone renew ?
-
Number 3 for me with a liitle bit of Number 6 although think they are well indoctrinated now
-
I like going down the Villa and I can afford to do it.
-
I just can't help myself.

Turn the question around.
Plenty won't. Why's that?

Because they are a miserable load of Brummies.

Well said Andrew. I waver from time to time (like now) but only usually for a few hours so I renewed in March right at the beginning so I wouldn't have time to reconsider, also before the wife got to me with alternative ways to spend our money!
-
None of the above options. I renewed because I'm a Villa fan who wants to watch Villa matches.

Because they can't be bothered anymore?
Big deal. That's always happened. We'll still be well supported as always.
-
I renewed because,, like last year and all the years before ,, i think "this could be our year"
-
Somebody told me to "hold on to my seat"
-
Mixture of second and fourth options for me.
-
I'm a Villa fan. Where's that option?
-
I renewed but have lost faith in football i know its been going this way for a while but the rubbish World cup and Man City have really spoilt it for me.
Im not excited about the season starting and switching on sky to tell us how good fat frank, rooney,Gerard are etc makes me feel sick!
On saying all of this if we spank west ham 5-0 first game all will be forgotten!

This.

That I think is a far more pertinent thread and poll.
-
To make it easier to get Cup Final tickets.
It's Our Year. Again.
-
Force of habit.
-
Plus I'd miss freezing my 'nads off and getting soaked to the skin before and after the game whilst shouting really loud and taking money off people.
-
I haven't renewed. Due to work reasons I can only make about 8-10 games but that hasn't stopped me in the past. The last few years I have been getting more and more disillusioned with Premier league footballers/football in general and the atmosphere is only hot for the Blues games. The fact that you can always get a ticket for games if you are organised also affected my decision.
Will always follow the Villa and will go to as many games this year as last but have a growing feeling of apathy that has manifested itself as not wanting a season ticket this year.
-
Force of habit.
This
a habit i'd quite happily kick
-
Every game I went to last season, I seriously thought "We can have this" and it wasnt far wrong in the end. Other than that, I like the buzz of the game. Watching the match, and watching players develop over a season. And even when we get in a tough run, there is something dragging me towrds it. Like gravity. That invisible stuff that kills you
-
Carbon monoxide?
-
Can I have a "Because I enjoy it" option please?
We'll win some games, we'll lose some games. We'll play well, we'll play shite.
Just enjoy it. If you stop enjoying it, stop going.
-
Ive no idea.
is it a trick question ??
-
Why?
What sort of question and options are these?
People move house, change careers, leave partners and find new ones, get married get divorced, move to other parts of the world, change political affiliations, sometimes even change their religion and faith. But no supporter has ever changed their football team.
I like watching football and my team is Aston Villa.
-
I like sitting in traffic jams. Great big long ones which never move.
-
I must say, the M25 near Heathrow is a great place to spark up a spliff, or a rock of crystal meth.

I strongly recommend you to try and exit via Aston Hall Road. Rather than the old system of making the road one way for about half an hour after the game, last season the traffic police seemed to actively encourage traffic off Lichfield Road towards the ground at full time. If they could encourage a 40 foot articulated lorry all the better. Combined with now letting cars park both sides of the road where it curves round by the disused tower block, often parked facing towards the ground and then trying to turn round in the road during the get away, this will help you even more.
Make sure you dont miss the Valencia friendly, that will probably have no traffic control at all. Thus enabling you to enjoy sitting in your car even longer despite probably a 20-25k attendance. Happy motoring!
