Martin Laursen
33 Today
-
Great player, great guy, great everything. Among of the last of a dying breed, him and Mellberg - a footballer who's a bloody good gent.
-
I saw him in Stratford once, getting out of his Aston Martin and stuffing change in the meter.
It was winter and cold, and he had a hat on. I said to the Mrs, in a jealous tone of voice, "what the fuck does someone that young do to drive a car like that?", then only as i passed him did I realise it was Martin Laursen.
Strange. I always find seeing footballers away from football grounds a bit weird.

Top gentleman and 150% footballer. Happy bithday Martin .........
-
I saw an interview with him the other day, probably from last summer but boy did he love our club and enjoy every single minute he played for us. He wasn't angry or sad that he could no longer play, he was appreciative of the good times, the special times he had wearing the claret and blue.
Great player, even greater man. Happy birthday fella. We won't forget you.

Only 33...Jesus, were it not for the knees he could have lasted many more years.

Martin Laursen da da da da. Miss that.
Good luck to the big man.
-
Would love to see Martin in some role at Villa Park. PR maybe. He is a credit to pro footballers .....
-
Legend
Really ???
-
If he wanted a beer I'd get him one. There can be no higher praise than that.
-
I'd say legend is a bit strong but he was a very good and inspirational defender, certainly one of the best in the first half of the 08-09 season for example.
