Several young lions will be in the line-up this evening as Villa XI take on Chasetown in a reserve friendly.

Barry Bannan, Jon Hogg, Eric Lichaj, Shane Lowry and Harry Forrester are in Kevin MacDonald's team for the match at the Scholars Ground tonight [ko 7.15pm].

Chasetown are managed by Charlie Blakemore and were promoted to the Northern Premier Division last season.

They have earned a reputation as FA Cup giantkillers in recent years, reaching the first round proper for the first time ever in 2005-06, while in 2007-08 the Scholars embarked on a famous run to the third round where they eventually lost to Cardiff City.

Admission for the match is £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Meanwhile, MacDonald will send a Villa XI to Boldmere St Michael's for a friendly clash on Tuesday August 3, with a 7.15pm kick-off.

Boldmere are a Midland Football Alliance side - and have been since the league's formation in 1994 - and are managed by Rob Mallaband.

The champions of 1986, 1989 and 1990 finished sixth last term. The club won the Walsall Senior Cup in 2006 and retained it the following season.

VILLA Team Tonight: Parish, Lichaj, Deeney, Hogg, Clarke, Lowry, Forrester, Carruthers, Taylor, Bannan, Cameron. Subs: Berry, Siegrist, Halfhuid, Johnson, Williams, Darkin, Devine, Nelson-Addy.

I like the look of Ellis Deeney. Unfortunately, he's a full back who plays full back so he has no future under O'Neill.
