Anyone having a flutter?
Money on Tiger, as I reckon he has something to prove and he loves the old course.
An outside flutter on McIlroy and one t.b.c.
-
No flutter but I reckon you won't go much wrong with an each way bet on Rhys Davies.
Paul Casey might go close as well.
-
My bets on the Open will go on Tiger, Paul Casey and Lee Westwood. Surely it's about time for a Brit winner!
Really looking forward to it, just gutted I can't go this year.
-
Money would have been on Westwood, but he's injured. Hard to see him winning now, he said he has had to adjust his swing to accomodate playing with the injury - that's never a good thing.
-
It's hard to see Lee Westwood winning any major regardless of any injury.
I've fallen into the Lee Westwood trap during many majors.
I'm thinking about Ian Poulter or Harrington.
-
Ernie Els will win it.
-
Els and Mickelson make up the rotters 4ball.

He's the only one that's made me any money at the Open apart from Tiger! 4th in 2004 and 3rd (bottler!) last year.
Anyway, let the golf begin.

Justin Rose is one to be watched by all accounts. After a couple of tour wins he is in the form of his life and has a good Open pedigree following his stunning debut some years ago.
He certainly shouldn't be discounted and may be in the shake up come Sunday afternoon, but he recently switched his football allegiance from Villa to Chelsea so as far as I am concerned he can go and fuck himself.

McIlroy has just carded a 63.

McIlroy has just carded a 63.
Not as big a shock as Daly carding a 66
..... some bloke Woods is also at 6 under along with Andrew Coltart, who's normally just commentating on such tournaments for da Beeb
-
Wind picking up so I reckon the top of the leaderboard will stay roughly like it is now. Unlucky for those still to tee off.
-
I think it's Andrew Cotter (sp?) redsox, not Coltart.
Same again from McIlroy please.
-
I went Mickelson and Rose shows what I Feckin know.
-
Im on Rory after he blitzed the field at Quail Hollow,we shall see..
-
Our Lee played some lovely stuff yesterday, more of the same today please. Tiger's new putter seems to be working out ok as well. Bets looking ok so far!
-

I got the spelling off the BBC leaderboard when I heard the Beeb mention that the guy sometimes commentated with them
-

No it's Coltart.
Andrew Cotter also commentates on the golf but he's never been a professional golfer.
-
Apologies.
-
Casey was going well today until he's just triple-bogey'd the 17th that is.

Forgot that the 'sports arena' was here....
I had a little flutter on 4 players; Westwood & Poulter as serious and Monty and Calcavecchia as the pay out is top 6 and they both do well in bad conditions.....just hope the wind blows enough to get monty inside the cut mark
-
Monty should make the cut. All hell breaking loose at the moment. Very windy.
-
McIlroy seems to be having a spot of trouble.

The action on Friday was rivetting stuff and demonstrates why the Open is so revered.
It was a real test of nerve, patience and concentration and put even the best golfers under severe pressure. But there were still some great shots. The climax with Woods brilliant shot at the 18th and the emotional scenes with Tom Watson will be difficult to beat over the weekend.
I know many people don't take the game seriously, but the sight of a sportsman and gentleman such as Watson completing his final Open round at the home of golf was the perfect antidote to the bloated, cynical and from an England point of view, utterly pathetic World Cup.

Has there ever been a final day so predictably boring? It's a silly course!
