Title: How many season tickets sold?
Post by: Andy_Lochhead_in_the_air on July 11, 2010, 09:28:13 AM
I would guess with money being tight, many will at least have delayed renewing. I certainly waited as late as possible before paying out to renew my regular spot.
What was the total full season ticket sales last year and is there any way we can find out what the current total is so far for this season?
In fact, I think it would be of interest to fans if the official website kept a continual running total of season tickets sold as we approach the opening day. It would be good to check and see as the numbers crept up.
Logistically it should be possible to set this up on the site, and its not as though its commercially sensitive information to our "competitors" in the football industry.

The guy in the ticket office told us on Thursday that we'd sold 22,000.

He reckoned we sold 27,000 last season.

I'm no expert but that sounds OK at this point.

I read on the website that Villa were thrilled that we were on target to match last seasons 28,000 sold this year.

With no positive incoming transfer news, and as already been mentioned on here money being extremely tight in the West Midlands , to get anywhere near 28,000 will be a phenomenal achievement from our fans and our club with the various schems on offer. Fingers crossed.

Up the Villa!

I'm just wondering what the maximum number of Season Ticekets the club will sell is.......

Randy has stated that he doesn't want all match day tickets to be taken by ST holders, so it's between 28,000 which we seem to sell year on year now and 38,000 taking into account way fans' allocations.

I reckon its about 32,000 in total - just wondering whether anyone actually knows because we never 'sell out'.

Isn't there some sort of ruling that only a certain percentage of available seats be sold as Season Tickets?

I'm not sure, I think some clubs sell all of their seats to ST holders.

Didn't Derby sell all of their tickets this way a few seasons ago ?

Interesting reading btw

I'll be very surprised if we sell 28k, particularly if we sell Milner and/or Young.  I'm not renewing due to cash being tight.  Like a lot of people, I wasn't enthralled with our home performances last season but £350 (lower north) is a steal and gets me out of the house!  Hopefully, I'll be back in the New Year.

Was speaking to my Scouse mate yesterday who said their cheapest seats are £680!

I know, we still have reasonably priced ST's - Spurz are certainly around the £700-£1,000 mark depending on where you sit.

I think we'll sell 28k like lsat year as there seems to be a core support level at that numberthat will / can buy a season ticket.

Yep, get back in the new year .... !

Ha. I've just seen this one.

Credit to him for his all out assault on the 'Even-his-own-mother-doesn't-like-him-Bellend of the Year' award. I bet he's got a head like a badly peeled potato in real life as well.

Tottenham's season tickets actually go up to £1695 each and average over £1000 each,  with match day prices of up to £78 per ticket,  Aston Villa fans get excellent value for money as far as ticket prices go.

I am still hoping that there are still tickets available because I do not want to miss this kind of game play. I need to go and hurry right now. I am expecting this happening to be a kind of joyous party ever.

Randomness, you just can't beat it .... !

Just taken a peep at Spurs' website and yes, £1,695 is their top priced ST - nearly £90 a game !!

Quite funny if you consider it was probably cheaper for us to go to Wembley last season than an away trip to Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea.
