Went to Tally Ho today for the Help For Heroes Funday including the Old Stars v WM Police.
Old Stars ran out triumphant by 7-2. Mark Burke scored a quite superb opener a brilliant volley from the edge of the area. Stan Staunton just tried his luck from about 20 yards with a sweet left foot shot which nestled in the corner. In between times I was in the bar and only found out the score during the presentations.
We had (of recognition) Darren Bradley at right back, Bryan Small at left back, Stan in left midfield, Sid, Tony Morley (who went on one superb trickery run only to scuff his shot), Mark Burke and I think it might have been Martin Carruthers up front. Oh and Mark Kinsella was playing!!
At the end Stan Staunton was superb and agreed for a photo with my kids and their mates. Sid was a right miserable bugger. I only asked him if Milner was leaving and suggested he could take his place in a light hearted manner and he just grunted and had his son with him at the time.
Good day out....

Colin Gibson, Andy Comyn and Derek Dudley also played, plus a couple of others.

Sorry, forgive me, cannot believe I missed out Gibbo. I think in hindsight I recognised Andy Comyn (I believe the DJ who announced the team couldnt actually pronounce his name beforehand).

Andy Comyn was number 5, looks about 16.

That Tally-Ho pitch is a beauty, isn't it?
Did anyone ask Andy Comyn if he still suffers from dizzy spells after that roasting John Barnes gave him?

I must be suffering from a severe memory lapse, the name rings not one bell from anywhere. Who is, was, or might be Derek Dudley?

I wonder how many of today's players will bother turning out for the Former Players in charity matches in future?
Good work they do.

A goalkeeper who started his career at Aston Villa before moving to West Brom.

I heard a rumour that one SV Collymore was meant to be turning out for Villa but didn't show. Not sure if true or not but I was certainly told it at the event.

No mention of him here (http://www.heroesandvillains.info/discuss/viewtopic.php?t=38816).

So was Andy Gray but he went shopping at Asda instead.
