Title: 'Terrific' ticket deal
Post by: Legion on June 04, 2010, 07:56:36 PM
From Pravda (http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/ClubNewsDetail/0,,10265~2064525,00.html):

Quote
Villa have come up with a terrific ticket deal - allowing fans the chance to watch the first two home European games of the season at excellent prices.

The deal includes our friendly match with Spanish giants Valencia and the home leg of our Europa League play-off clash.

The match against the six-time La Liga champions promises to be an absolute cracker while the start of any European campaign is always an exciting prospect.

The Valencia match takes place on Friday August 6 - with a host of family activities before kick-off - while the date of the Europa League game is yet to be confirmed.

The fab prices are as follows:

Adult

North Stand £20 (saving £10)
Holte End £25 (saving £10)
Doug Ellis Stand/Trinity Road Stand £30 (saving £10)

Junior

North Stand £10
Holte End £10
Doug Ellis Stand /Trinity Road Stand £15 (saving £5)

Please note: The saving figure in brackets is the maximum saving that may be made - individual ticket prices for the Europa match will increase on matchday. So make sure you purchase early.

This deal will be on sale from July 8 and will be made available to customers purchasing online.

How, if at all, does this affect the Cup Scheme, where the first fixture is free? Are Europa League (I hate that phrase. It's the UEFA Cup) fixtures exempt?

Either the Thursday before the prem season starts (we'll be starting the season on a Sunday) or the one two weeks later (when I'll be at Reading festival in any case.)

Love you too. ;-)

I'm presuming I get the first Europa game free anyway with my ST and cup scheme?

Kisses to you, too.

That's what I thought. See my initial post under the quote.

When I renewed our ST's last week, the girl in the ticket office said that the first cup game is free, if you are in the cup scheme.
She then went on to say that to qualify, you have to attend and pay for the first 2 cup games, and will then get refunded for the first.
But she wasn't 100% sure how this will be administred.

I think I can confidently say that it will be administered in an overcomplicated and potentially chaotic manner.

1st leg 19th Aug, 2nd leg 26th Aug I believe. Draw for this round is 6th Aug.

Question about the cup scheme if anyone can help.

We joined last year because all the info said it was the only way to claim your own seat as a season ticket holder.

But for every cup game we saw there was a sale window for STHs to claim their seat.

It says the same thing this year (accept with ONLY in capital letters!) but I'd really rather not join cos it always takes the money at inconvenient times.

Anyone know what the actual score is?

At the start of last season they did state that the cup scheme was the only way for STHs to claim their own seats but they backtracked when the season started so there was the usual window in which to buy your seat.  I'm not sure what they're doing this season.

Thanks SOTC. A call needed to the ticket office then, but I will be mightily annoyed if they say you have to do it then backtrack again.

In case anyone else is interested, I went into the ticket office to clarify the situation on the cup scheme.

Despite all literature saying being in the scheme is the ONLY (they're capitals not mine) to secure your own seat, I was told they would still have a buying window for STHs.

They didn't seem to see/care that there is an obvious contradiction/blatant lie.
