He died in the early hours of Tuesday 11th August 2009 after suffering from Motor Neurone Disease and COPD for the last few years.
He helped make me the person I am today and for everything I am and have I thank him.
He was a massive villa fan and without him who knows what I've been. Ill never forget him taking me to the games in the Turner years and beyond. Sitting on the Witton Lane on the wooden seats eating fish and chips (the crisp type things) and him having a Bovril. I have so much to thank him for it is untrue.
He hadn't been to the ground for years due to his illness but watched everything he could, going mental at the TV wearing one of his various Aston Villa polo shirts. He's been getting H & V through the post the last few years and loved it, especially when people were having a good moan about all things villa. (Sorry Mr Woodall one less subscription, although your reminder letter arrived on the door step this morning which to be honest made me smile.)
Anyway you will be missed so much by me, mom, al, freya and all that have had the pleasure to have met you.
Love always
Chris

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family Chris.
I lost my dad many years ago and it was because of him i'm Villa, so have an idea what you are going through. It does get better and the memories are always there.

I am sorry for your loss mate. The pain will ease slowly with time but the memories will remain for ever.
-
Having only recently lost my Dad I feel your pain, remember the good times, I bet there were plenty.
-
Be comforted by the certain knowledge that we`re never far from our father`s whisper.

Lost my dad 5 years ago and can only echo what others have said on here. Remember the happy times and see every Villa goal as one for him.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. He really was a great guy and will be badly missed.
He's got full claret and blue honours for the funeral which he will be chuffed to bits with.
Ill be thinking of him at 3pm today and know he'll be up there, having a go at the ref and shouting his head off when we score.
Again, thanks
