Not that i approve of sponsors on shirts but my vote goes to Mita Copiers, they were to Villa what Sharp and JVC were to Arsenal and Man Utd, our sponsors for so long that it was impossible to imagine any other brand on the name of our shirt. Now it seems to change every 2-3 years. The worst for me was LDV Vans - i hated them.
-
I voted Acorns, just for what it stands for.
Would prefer a sponsorless shirt though.
-
Mita for the longevity of their association.
Acorns for what it represents.
As an aside, does any one know (a) what Davenports paid for the deal; and (b) what the going rate is now to have your name on the shirt of the reigning European Champions?
-
Mita for me - on my first ever Villa shirt - bought at a shop on Tottenham Court Rd
-
AST.
-
muller yoghurt...because i like crunch corners
-
AST, just looked right and the kits that time were great!

AIG pay £58 million for the 'pleasure' of sponsering them

I was chatting with my old man at the weekend about sponsorship. He had good links with the club back in the 70s told me the following tale re Villa and shirt sponsorship.
Villa tried to get shirt sponsorship as far back as the late seventies, Dunlop were muted to have struck a deal with Villa to sponsor the shirt, a revolutionary idea at the time. So revolutionary in fact that the Football League put a stop to it with immediate effect.

Favourite - Acorns
Worst - Muller. Just reminds me of crap kits.
-
Davenports of course. Ahh what a shirt that one was.
-
How could it be anything other than Acorns - amazing gesture by the club

Couldn't agree more, makes me feel really proud
-
AST with Acorns a close second
-
Acorns for me, any people ITK on the new sponsor?
-
Mita copiers, the very authentic Villa sponser.
-
Acorns was a class move. Davenports was a novelty because they were our first sponsors and lesser clubs had been sponsored for a while. Mita took over the club and the ground thanks to Doug. I thought I was going to have to have it tattooed on my forehead before I could renew my season ticket.

I'll raise you a 1986 Henson home kit, short sleeve with the word Mita on it...steam pressed on!
