i hold my hands up - i think Deano's goal vs Ipswich was far far better than Dalians v Wimbledon. I was at both games and have seen them a million times on vhs - but Dalians seems to be the only one that neutral shows and documentaries ever show. Maybe i prefer the Deano goal cos we were on home turf or because i saw this from the North Stand so i saw the whole thing unfold before me - with the Holte End packed and resplendant in front of me - but no one ever goes on about it apart from us Villa fans. everyone raves on about Beckham's goal but Deano's was just as good in my view.

As much as Deano's was a good goal, I think there was more than an element of luck about it, whereas Dalians was strength, pace and sublime finishing.
So Sicknotes goal for me then.
-
Sicknote for me too.
Great pace, power and a deft chip.
Also Deano's didn't have a brolly man to join in the celebrations either.
-
Didn't Ipswich have the worlds smallest goalie in the goal that day? Clive Baker was it?
Dalian's by a mile I'm afraid. Deano's was good, but I don't think I'll see a goal as good as Dalian's scored for the villa for a long long time.
-
Has to be Dalian's. The tragedy is he could have scored goals like that every week if he could have been arsed.
-
Petrov's at Derby last season for me.
-
Dalian for me too but at that Ipswich game Yorke's goal was better than Dean's. A diving header after a slick team buid up starting in your own area surpasses a long range lob.

I'm with Deano's Mullet. The goal versus Ipswich was the better of the two.
-
Got to be Dalian's.

i love that Yorke goal. one of the top 10 most memorable Villa games for me easily. and some classic bootlace kits on view (both ours and ipswichs!)

Sorry Deano, it has to be Dalian
-
Deano's. Had a perfect view of it, right in line.
-
So many good goals that season, I loved the move against Sheffield Wednesday (?) with about 15 passes that I think Yorke finished off.

that was indeed the game. 2-0 in 1993
-
The Tony Morley goal against Everton(?) which involved a slick passing intercahnge and he then took it on from the half way line and cut inside before taking out the back of the net. Goal of the season I believe.

Deano's. Had a perfect view of it, right in line.
Me too, but I'll still take Alien Datkinsons

Deano's or Aliens?
-
Deano's.

Dalian it was pure class. Deano`s was just "oh lets have a go"
-
Deano's.
I trod on a few

I'd have to go for Dalian's - but the goal of that season for me was Staunton's against ManU at Old Trafford - an absolute screamer which completely silenced a bar in downtown Belfast.
A round of applause quickly followed and the Man U contingent were very worried.
F**k Mark Hughes.
