Toon winning now. Bad result at VP but other results going our way.

Battered today, horrible. Christmas is massive now, Southampton and Norwich at home, Watford away. We need 9 points, simple as that. And an unlikely draw or win at Sheffield next week would be helpful. Come New Year’s Day, things will either look really bleak or far more optimistic, no in between.

I hate to be negative and not go for the win but must admit i'd take a point now.

How humiliating. I’m losing faith in Dean at this level. I don’t think I’m being melodramatic in saying that.
No, you're not.  He does seem wedded to his ideas.  Ideas which aren't working.

I had concerns before the season started which he assuaged to some degree, but as we go on and we fail to improve so consistently you have to wonder. We look like we're trying to play two or three types of football at once which, as Unai Emery found it, is going to get quickly exploited at this level.

He’s going to be given a chance to get into the “easier” portion of the schedule and the transfer window. But I have no room for sentiment. If it doesn’t improve by the end of Jan and we are still in the bottom 3 or 4, cut the cord, say a big thank you and get someone who has proven top level quality in.

Look on the bright side.  Southampton lost 9-0 to these.

Jack's lost his head, diving in, falling over, leaving a bit on other players - he could be a 95th minute red at this rate...

Can everyone take stock before conceding relegation in early December. We've been soundly beaten by one of the best sides in the country if not Europe at the moment.

Had a really bad run of fixtures, and if anyone thinks we WEREN'T going to be in a relegation battle after coming up through the playoffs, you're having yourself on. We've looked good in all but one of the games against teams we are ACTUALLY competing with this season.

That doesn't mean there haven't been poor mistakes from players and management today - but can we get a bit realistic

Starting to think that January window and all the money in the world won’t make any difference with Smith in charge.
On paper, we’re going into a spell of ‘easier’ games, but with our soft belly, these are exactly the kind of teams we will get turned over by.
We’ll be rooted in bottom 3 by New Year.

There were plenty who thought that.
