My lad at half time vs Liverpool
« on: November 03, 2019, 09:05:43 PM »
Had a fantastic experience yesterday after winning the Pride Rewards 'Half Time Selfie' competition to go onto the pitch during half time. My lad, George, who is 10 and has had a season ticket since he was 6, had seen someone else doing it a few games ago and asked how you can do it. I looked at Pride Rewards online and thought I would give it a go. He was made up to find out we had won. Had expected to go on the concourse next to the pitch and perhaps pop on to the grass quickly but what happened was amazing. Got to walk around freely on the pitch and take some photos with the Holte in the background and some in the dugout.

Then Neil Taylor called to him and passed him the ball so he ended up passing with Neil and also Kodjia who was over by the Doug Ellis touchline. Fantastic!. Then they went off to do some warm up runs so we took some more photos but after the run Neil called him over and said "Do you want to play some one touch with the lads?" So he was then kicking about with Henri Lansbury and Conor Hourihane aswell. What an experience for him. Couldn't stop smiling and even got a cheeky photo with Bobby Firmino as we were walking off, who looked miserable after getting a roasting from Klopp in the dressing room no doubt.

Shame about the result in the end, so proud of every player yesterday and, after far too many recent years of not caring about many of our players at all, we've finally got our Villa back. Just thought I would share.

That's brilliant.  I was watching your boy at half time, from my seat in the North Stand, thinking that lad knows how to pass a ball.  And did I see him encouraged to try a pass with his left foot, as well as his usual right?

Yes Neil Taylor said can you use your left too so hit a few of those too. His weakest foot but working on it.

That’s enough about Neil Taylor - what about your lad’s left foot?

That’s(left) such a positive, targeted coaching directive to help Georgie to develop his skills.

Those pictures will be in the programme in ten years’ time when he’s in the starting lineup against Liverpool.

Fantastic wozwebs. Tell him I just went on the Liverpool website and the fans were asking who's the guy in the Liverpool kit standing next to George.

That’s a lovely story mate. I can only Imagine how excited he was and how he will feel about going to school and telling his mates today.

I've seen a few fans walking around the pitch, actually one of them last season was one of the guys who does the matchday blogs.

Think it's brilliant to get the younger fans out on the turf, that's one way to inspire him for the future!

Would be a little worried for Neil Taylor's safety if say Risso won this competition (wink).
