Considering we were top for ages, 98/99.

Did Bad English go for another shower at the end? If so I think we may be on to something.

We were above Man United early games of 1995-96 too. We won first two, they lost one. Much longer spell above them in 1998-99 when we led the table up to January.

Let’s not define ourselves against one team only. It’s very small time.

You can thank me for the win, was due to go over but missed my flight this morning.

Delighted with the win, not so much with the performance. Positives were Jack, Nakamba, Trez when he came on did alright. However, El Ghazi was really poor, and up to the goal so was targett, but obviously won't hammer him too much after grabbing the winner.

I'll share that credit Ger.  We were in Athlone today and as we walked passed a busker, he was singing Sweet Caroline, had to be an omen.

And after 4 games under Lambert in 14/15 we were second behind Chelsea.

And 2001/02 at some point. I remember beating Bolton 3-2 in October and going top of the league.

How was Davis' turn and shot just before the goal?  Sounded immense.
Yeah he did really well. Used his strength with players around him chested the ball down with his back to goal used his strength again to get the ball and got his shot off, their keeper did well.

Great result but as ITBRVilla said, fuck do we have some issues.
This team has not gelled and is carrying some passengers.
That performance gets beat most times in this league.
Happy but concerned

Target scored the winner but Grealish won the game.
Fair play to Brighton but when you have super Jack you know it's going to make it a winner !
Absolutely immense and probably one of his best ever ever performances in the premier league . It has to be.
Awesome and just loved how he shimmed past player aftwr player , carrassed the ball and basically played levels higher than anyone around him
Well done the villa boys!
Good effort by Davis in his cameo !
Unlucky to Hourihane for his disallowed goal he wasn't best pleased at being the fall guy and being subbed.
Jack Grealish is actually super !!
Got love that tonight.

Oh and it's the officials at stockley park who are incompetent not VAR !
Pretty much several calls in matches across the league jave been questionable if not downright in accurate
It's not the VAR it's these dam officials not reviewing at the match.

Anyway up the Villa!
And exactly how we'll cope with Man city in our open play and how we can out score them is anyone's guess
But tonight my fellow Villans let us enjoy this 94 min victory
And thank you Jenna Frumes for inspiring Jack
He's absolutely different class.

Jenna Frumes (along with Wesley), whoever she is, needs to notify the  police about you.

If offered it before the season started I reckon pretty much everyone would have taken 11 points, mid-table and 5th highest scorers.

I blame him on most things
