Thereís a WhatsApp voice recording on Twitter of a Derby player describing what supposedly happened. Allegedly;

Lawrence and Bennett each driving their cars despite being pretty much legless. Keogh in the back of one of the cars, lying sideways across the back seat (hence his bad injuries). Second car crashes into first car before continuing and then crashing into lamppost.

Lawrence and Bennett get in one car and continue to one of their houses, at which point they remember Keogh who is still unconscious in the car!

Pretty shocking if true.

Thankfully for them they only had Small Heath to contend with today so everyone will be feeling a lot more chipper tonight I imagine.

That voice recording is from a Blackburn player, not a Derby one. He talks about Bradley Johnson being "with us now". The info seems to have come from ex-Derby player Johnson as he was on the night out with them.

I know nothing about these things but surely if Keogh knowingly got into a car with a pissed bloke at the wheel then he's equally culpable, it's his own bloody stupid fault.

Yes getting in to a car with a driver who is clearly pissed is stupid but the driver/drivers are still liable. Ultimately Keogh wasnít driving so although he could be held to have contributed to his injuries heís not totally responsible.

He canít have been wearing a seatbelt though, can he?  Which is his responsibility legally.

Yes it is but if the driver of the other car was responsible for the accident then the lack of a seatbelt is irrelevant.

For example, if you were driving and werenít wearing a seatbelt when your car gets hit the other driver is still liable for the damage to your vehicle and any injuries that you suffer. The fact that you werenít wearing a seatbelt isnít relevant when deciding who is liable although any payments for your injuries could be adjusted to account for not wearing a seatbelt.

With Captain Keogh out for a long time, Tom Huddleston was appointed the new Derby skipper...for about ten minutes!! Then someone noticed that the guy holding the camera that showed a Derby player being violently sick in the toilets earler in the evening was, er...Tom Huddlestone!!

In other not shocking at all news, Huddlestone is now injured.

Looks like the Pub Player will end up being Derby captain going forward
